We go every year with small children, which love to help us adults pick blueberries, so when we arrived and got our buckets we always ask which rows are the best for picking, unfortunately this time, the lady told us, "you'll just have to look" . We started with our usual rows, for about 30 mins and our toddlers were getting bored and wanting to leave, I saw some people walking over to another area that wasn't there last year, so we followed, and to our surprise the plants were covered in ripe blueberries. I'm disappointed that we weren't told this in the beginning. Read moreThis is an absolutely beautiful farm and we sort of stumbled upon it when we were out that way. The blueberries are delicious provided you know how to pick them and the bushes are, even today with one week left, loaded with fruit and so healthy looking. The owners definitely know what they are doing. I told the young lady at the register as I was claiming my fresh picked bounty that Abshier Farms is our new favorite farm and she was absolutely thrilled. They are all nice, friendly and passionate about their craft and it shows. This is where we will do our picking from now on. Every year my friend and I have a wonderful time filling our buckets with the delicious ( they don't charge extra to taste the different kinds of blueberries as you pick to fill your bucket with the variety you love the most) large berries and then go to her house and spend the rest of the afternoon making delicious blueberry pies. I've known the family for years since I had one of the children in my class, and one of them is now my Allstate agent.
