Brownswood Nursery & Landscape - Charleston Landscape Design, Installation, and Garden Center — Attraction in Charleston

VERY disappointed with the LACK of professionalism, implementation and communication from this nursery. Started out with what I thought was a good interaction/plan. Went in to view my visual design and found it needed some changes. Worked with a wonderful gal (who soon afterwards left the company) and no one called or contacted me to complete what she had started. I'm STILL waiting and that was months and months ago! Found that there was poor communication between the different people who work there communicating what the client wants and the implementation of that. I was the one who repeatedly contacted them to check the status, time, plan, etc as to what was going on. They are VERY SLOW in the entire process of getting back to you about anything! They really dropped the ball in my situation and I cannot refer them out. I honestly don't think they have the expertise or manpower to compete with companies who specialize in landscaping and design. Thankfully I was able to find an excellent company who communicated effectively, really knew what they were doing (with wonderful attitudes & expertise!) and were top-notch professionals in EVERY way. ( I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Palmetto Landscape & Design if you want things done right, efficiently and in a timely manner!!!)

UPDATE: Since I posted this review, I was contacted by Brownswood Nursery with a gracious appology and offer to refund my money which I greatly appreciated and received. This really meant a lot to me! There have been some new changes implemented which will hopefully be beneficial to future...

I had been "scouting" Brownswood Nursery for months in preparation for landscaping. We have new construction and were installing a pool, pool decking, and sidewalks in our front and back yards so I was preparing for A LOT of work to enhance our bare canvas. In my multiple visits to Brownswood I spoke with Jeremy and Tara, who were invaluable in providing their knowledge, expertise and patience in helping me make my choices. The entire project has finally come to fruition. The plants I selected look absolutely gorgeous and are perfect for our rather rustic and natural setting. I purchased 32 Platinum Beauty Lomandra, 18 pink sweet grass, 5 red oleander, 6 Sunshine Ligustrum, and 12 Cerise Charm Loropetalum, and planted them all myself. I could not be more pleased with the finished product. Thank you, Jeremy and Tara! The vision came true! I owe you a debt of gratitude! I also purchased a gorgeous Pindo palm that sets center stage by the pool. Brendan and Drew did a perfect job installing the palm and teaching me how to care for it. Many thanks to them as well! Brownswood did an installation for me in November 2020. They did a great job! I was satisfied with their design process and with their follow through to installation.

Since I was pleased with their initial work, I decided to sign up for their quarterly maintenance plan. My first installment was today. Scheduling with Brendan initially and then follow up with Bridgit was very efficient. I felt through that process that Brownswood was interested in my goals for my yard, but someone was always available with professional guidance.

Wilson and Carlos arrived on time after Wilson had called to give me his ETA. When they arrived, Wilson walked the yard with me while we discussed the plan for the morning. He was interested in my concerns and had helpful suggestions to restore the health to some of my older, somewhat neglected plants. They were very efficient and left the yard in good shape. Wilson and I did a final walkthrough after their approximately 3 hour visit in which they treated, fertilized and trimmed the beds.

At first thought, this is not an inexpensive undertaking; however, after my first quarterly maintenance visit, I believe it is very good value for the money and I look forward to continuing my relationship with these...
