I have enjoyed this place since I was a little girl. Had to jump off the cliffs for old good times sake.
I want you say thank you to the Park for providing life jackets for guests. We got there late in the evening when guests were packing up and leaving. The life jackets are at the front entrance as you walk into the swimming area hanging from a sign. I only wish that people would put them back where they got them from instead of leaving them on the ground all over the park. The Park offers free life jackets and people can’t return them where they got them from? Do the Park a favor and return the life jackets where you got them from. You have to walk right by the station where the life jackets are stored for you to use for FREE and you can’t return the favor?? Thank you for the Park employees having to pick up after these guests. Other than that, the park was very clean and nice. Thank you to the employees...
Read moreClean restrooms, friendly staff, and cheap (5$ per vehicle)! There were life vests for loan at stations around the lake and swimming area, quite a few picnic gazebos with tables and benches in the trees, and a little playground and swing set also in the shade of the trees. There were grill stations close to the swimming area and tables to sit at. It was clean, aside from some cigarette butts scattered around the tables and by the road, even with trash cans easily accessible. The swimming area was in a bay, shallow and clear, and there were little fish in the water. Across the road there was a more active part of the lake; deeper, with cliffs to jump off of and waves from wind and boats. Highly recommended...

For a park maintained by a “Corps of Engineers “ you’d think they could design and build something a little more user friendly. I camped in area F. The bathhouse directly across was in very poor shape with no locks on the toilets and the door to the men’s room didn’t even close which meant I actually checked the rooms each time I went in to check for creepy crawlers lurking. There was no place to place clean clothes and other items to keep them dry while showering. I checked the other bathhouses as well and most were not...
