Had a wonderful trip driving from Vegas up into the natural landscape of mountains, trees and wildlife of Mt. Charleston. It was warmish for December, but it had snowed up in the park. Families were dotting the snowy hillside on feet and sleds. The sun was glistening off the snowy mountain peaks, and the air was crisp, clean and refreshing. There are cabins you can rent, trails you can hike and picnic areas to picnic. The lodge provided a nice reprieve while sitting by the warm rock firepit and also listening to the quiet tinkle of the baby grand piano being played. Our doggie was facinated by his first encounter with a bear, and I met an Indian princess along the way. Overall it was a very peaceful journey up to Mt. Charleston, and I hope to go again at...

I love to go up on my motorcycle. Just to feel the clean crisp air in the morning time. There is plenty of room to park. I enjoy looking around to see the grand beauty of nature. Even though I have been up here many times, I find this place so serine and peaceful. The time I am there my mind relaxes and peace just fills me. It is a beautiful view in all direction. This time of year there is lots of snow everywhere. It's so beautiful. In the spring and fall is your best time on a motorcycle. You might even get a glimpse of the wild horses that come down to graze in the meadows below. This area is a must see for everyone passing threw or locals that just need a...

Great lookout with a paved walking path. Pretty extensive lookout point with several informational signs and a few paved switchbacks for different views. The info signs tell you the distance to various mountain points and some history of the area. Definitely worth stopping at. Very close to Robber's Roost, but check out specifics about that trail before you get there (no signal and a bit convoluted signage). We stayed at this lookout for about 30 minutes and it was good fun for the multi-generational group. Beautiful with great views of the valleys including Indian...

Always an adventure to stop here. Beautiful vista overlooking an expansive Nevada desert. Often some big birds can be seen soaring over the area. Peaceful place, ... also offering some shorter hiking trails. We've been there at all seasons (cold in the winter as it's pretty high up there around 8,000 ft or so, and walking path to the overview is often not cleared of snow/ice). There are somewhat sufficient parking spaces. It's definitely good to clear the lungs and take numerous deep breath of fresh mountain air.

Absolutely breathtaking! If you live here or are just visiting, driving up to Mt. Charleston and then around to Lee Canyon Road is so worth the time. The views are beautiful, the air smells amazing, and it is so incredibly quiet. I'm an atheist, but this is what I'd imagine a religious person would call a spiritual experience. Do yourself a favor and make the drive, but be aware that it is easily 20-30° cooler than the Vegas valley so be prepared!
