Devil's Slide

Impossible parking and NOT flat! I read a review that this was flat so we brought a long board and roller blades. Parking was a nightmare and we were not able to find spots at either the north or south lots despite a decent amount of waiting, and had to park further down and then walk along Hwy 1 to get back to the trailhead (not a large shoulder for safe walking). The trail itself is fully paved but is not safe for any transport that does not have good brakes (not roller blade and skateboard/long board safe!). The majority of the trail is either uphill or downhill at 5% to 9% grade and the entry as you come back to both parking lots from the trail is downhill. I won't deny that the views are pretty, but they are not any more beautiful than what you'd see on many other coastal trails along Hwy 1. The main advantage I see is for someone who is wheelchair bound or has small kids in strollers and can take advantage of the paved trail. Otherwise, I'd find some other coastal hikes with better parking.
