This is really the only moderately safe beach to swim at and explore the shoreline. The dunes are exposed to the wind so it is most often cold and blustery, but if you bring a warm hat and coat it is fairly tolerable year-round. There's a nice patch of rocks at the harbour that are popular with children and adults, though proper caution of the waves and tides is highly advised.
