Love the staff, getting parked, verified 21 wristband, and then thru security. Everyone was fun, light-hearted and a great group! Inside- fantastic design for lawn seats to be on easy graduating hillside that are tiered with a wide sidewalk in between. Made for great viewing down onto the stage area and the entire event as a whole. *Vendors were great. Many selections, prices were nice at 3 chicken taco’s@$14 Multiple options other than just beer n wine which I loved. Margaritas $15
Now On To My Suggestions- *Stairs going up the hillside to concrete sidewalk. Right now u go from concrete at the bottom, to walking on the lawn on the hillside, up to a wide concrete sidewalk, to walking on the lawn hillside again. It would be safer for many I noticed to walk continuously up on a nice wide concrete stairway all the way up.
*#1 for me.. SCREENS,SCREENS,SCREENS!Experience is definitely heightened when u can see the performers up close and personal. Couldn’t see any member of the band, couldn’t tell who Chris Young was speaking to in the crowd, nor hear anything he was saying to them, nor their replies. Couldn’t tell what the bands reactions were to things he did on stage. Which left us feeling no connection w/Chris,not included & missed out for most of it. Which I & many feel are key aspects as a concert goer & the entire experience as a whole. I want to see sweat dripping down their face, a terrific gleaming smile. I want to see the twinkle in their eye when they wink at a fan. All these things are why we go.
*the sound system was so low & muffled everyone couldn’t catch what was said & going on.
*also,as we were leaving thru the entry/exit gate(the area security searched our bags)the entire area had police & EMT’s in it, we barely could get by. A lady that had been sitting next to us was sitting in a wheelchair&EMT’s were asking her things. I asked if she was ok she replied she felt fine enough. I’m not sure what happened, BUT..I felt embarrassed for her w/ everyone starring as they left. I felt this all could have&should have been taken to a more private area. Confidentiality & privacy, had I of been in her shoes would definitely of wanted & really of expected.
**These suggestions are just that, fresh eyes seeing your place for the first time. All n all I enjoyed the venue very much and will make the trip down from Sonora I’m sure to see another performer at some point and to check out your “NEW SCREENS”...
Read moreThis is the 2nd concert we attended at the Fruit Yard. The venue is set up well, there are no places you sit where you wont see and hear the performer. This was a completely sold out show so it got packed in the venue. Check in screening is set up well. They have 3 areas one to check in if you need a 21+ wrist band if you plan to drink, one for security screening, which they seperate into lines with chairs and without. Will call also has its designated security line so that people didnt have to wait then wait again. Once your through security they had multiple lines to scan your tickets in before entering the area of the venue with food, merch and restrooms. I have to hand it to them even though all the restrooms are portable potties, they were the cleanest I've been in and didnt smell like a crapper. We had GA seats and brought our low back chairs and sat up on the 2 section of the grass. Part of the video screen was obstructed by the large speakers but we could see the entire stage and the performance. They have a beverage pavillion on the far side of the stage that only has drinks so if you get thirsty during the show you can hit that area instead of going to the food vendors. They also have a sponsorship lounge where its exclusive to get in with private restrooms and drinks for purchase. Weird Al was such an entertainer, committed to costume changes through the show. We were able to hit the merch booth on the way out with a...
Read moreWent to the Weird Al show on 8/23/25. 5 stars for Weird Al! But the venue, no. After I paid $20 for parking (which should be free), I was verbally assaulted by the person directing traffic. He was totally furious before I got there. He raised his voice at me, cussed at me, and made snarky comments, as if i was intentionally taking up too much space, rather than parking in a unfamiliar field while being cussed at by a stranger. This man was way out of line. The people on either side of me had young children with them, who had to hear this man yelling and cussing at their parents. The experience continued with absolutely filthy porta potties. There were no staff cleaning the potties, so they just got more disgusting as the evening progressed. And again with drink and food priced 50% higher than any other venue I've been to recently. I guess the $20 is paid for parking was just to get cussed at on the way in, because there was no staff directing traffic on the way out, which left a traffic jam ridiculous for how small this venue is. I was just at Ironstone a week before and had a great experience. So I know Fruityard can do better, they just choose not to so they can...
