On a mission to show you how incredible Virginia really is- a handful of places at a time! I made a whole VA Adventure Bucketlist at the beginning of the year and it was a bitttt overwhelming, so I’m breaking down my favorite Virginia adventures into bite size pieces instead! Here are 5 MORE of my favorite places to explore in Virginia. ❤️ Have you visited any of these yet!? 📍Super cool columnar jointing in Shenandoah NP 📍Natural Bridge State Park 📍McAfee Knob on the Appalachian Trail 📍Shenandoah River State Park full of bluebells 📍Mary’s Rock at sunrise (also SNP) *Incredible places like these can only stay that way if we take care of them! Please make sure to leave no trace when visiting. That means packing out all of your trash, staying on established trails, and overall just being a good human being out there. Leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but memories.

Let the exploring begin! Here are 25 of my favorite things for your Virginia adventure bucket list in 2024 (or til the end of time)! 📌Save for later and share with someone you’re tackling this list with. How many of these have you done so far!? What’s on your list for this year?? I need to check off some more state parks for sure. 1. Explore a new state park- seeing the rainbow swamp at First Landing is on my list! 2. See a mtn sunrise (or sunset)- Love Mary’s Rock in SNP 3. Admire some rocks like the Natural Chimneys in Mt Solon! 4. Smell the flowers- The spring bluebells are so pretty 5. Paddle to sunken ships- a cool adventure at Kiptopeke State Park 6. Wander an ancient labyrinth like Great Channels 7. Chase waterfalls all over! 8. Hike in SNP- Old Rag is a must 9. Sample craft beer like @broscraftbrew in Hburg 10. Hike the Triple Crown (vid from McAfee Knob) 11. Cool off in a swimming hole 12. Hunt for abandoned ruins 13. Catch sunrise on the beach- Love Sandbridge! 14. Volunteer! (We pulled invasives with @snptrust) 15. Walk the Blue Ridge Tunnel 16. Try fly fishing- @orvischarlottesville can help ya out! 17. Visit a winery 18. Explore the caverns like Skyline, Shenandoah, Luray (+ more) 19. And caves! I need to find out how to go wild caving. 20. Climb a fire tower- this is Woodstock tower, but there are a bunch 21. Stay in a cozy cabin like @roaringruncabins 22. Hang at a lake (we like Lake Anna & @flying.moose.lakeanna) 23. Find GW’s initials carved under Natural Bridge 24. See (don’t touch) wild ponies at Grayson Highlands 25. Chase fall foliage ❗️Please remember to Leave No Trace when you’re out there exploring!

Now I know what it's like to hike the entire AT as well as climb Everest.;-) Parking is generous and there are facilities to tend to your comfort at the parking area. But nothing at the top. Pack in and pack out as no trash receptacles at the top are to be found. But really, this is worth the hike. We are in our 60's and made the trek up the 1.7miles (I think they meant like 20 miles) trail that gave you places to sit on rocks and boulders to rest and prep for the next bit of climbing. But do press on as the summit is worth it all. And if you are bringing your K9 companion PLEASE BRING WATER WITH YOU. And once there you are greeted by a group of other hikers who can all sit and enjoy the camaraderie of having made it to the top. And if you want to go further, there are more boulders to scale as well. But soak in the views and enjoy the time with yours, and others' K9 companions. Breathtaking, is an...

I've done this hike several times, and it's always a great view! There are at least a couple ways to get to the peak. I've done the ~4 mile round trip hike from the panorama parking lot the most often. However, if you're feeling up to it, there is a more scenic hike from the pinnacles picnic area that's about 7 miles or so round trip. Either way, it can be a tough climb, but the views are definitely worth it!

This hike from the panorama parking lot is also good in the winter. If skyline drive is snowy/icy, and you don't want to or are unable to go further into the park, this hike is still worth the drive out here! I'd recommend trekking poles if the trail is icy, however, since there are a couple spots where slick ice can lead you tumbling down a steep incline if you aren't...

A bunch of youth from my church hiked this trail over spring break. I’ve done a good handful of the hikes on skyline drive, but this was by far my favorite! We entered the trail just off of skyline drive on the longer of the two choices. Our large group quickly became several smaller groups, but we made sure to wait at the top for everyone. Many of us rock scrambled the top of the mountain for a while finding some hidden beauties. After everyone in our group had rehydrated we went back down. While going up took roughly and hour or two the hike down took about 45 minutes I’d say. Overall I do recommend this hike to mildly experienced/...
