PSA HE LISTS UNDER "CUSTOM GAMING COMPUTERS" and offers to build you different tier priced systems, this is how we found him.
We found and consulted with Jacob on what we would be using the PC for and what we would need. He seemed knowledgable - but the office is littered with junk and boxes (amazon, used parts, etc) and we should have trusted our guts when it said this operation had sketchy red flags EVERYWHERE. But I digress, we came up with a price ($500... didn't need an invoice or a receipt listing the parts, just $500. $600 if we wanted the monitor, keyboard and mouse.) I put a downpayment of $200 on Feb 9th (Sunday) and was told that the computer would be ready by Thursday. FF to Thursday, after we'd paid the additional $400 to have our machine built, we were told it wasn't ready yet. Actually, Jacob pushed back the date 3x. Fast forward to February 23rd, Saturday, we're finally able to pick up the computer, and we get it home, and unbox it. First off, IT WAS NOT what we ordered, or discussed. We'd asked for a white shell w/purple lights. We got a completely black shell with no lights. There was a bit of confusion on how to get it up and running - but we finally did - except the computer was built off of discontinued and outdated, inoperable parts. Jacob wanted to help, or at least it seemed that way. However, he continued to sweep anything we told him about the issue - the computer could not run the game we'd specifically bought it for because it did not have the specifications we'd asked for- under the rug. We're AVID players of this game and have been using the game on a circa 2012 Macbook pro with limited specs and a 2011 HP Pavillion. Both outdated, both able to run the game, albeit a bit slowly, which was why we wanted to upgrade. We worked out with Jacob to visit him at 2pm on Monday February 25th, we dropped off the computer, and I mentioned a possible refund if we couldn't get it working. Jacob again shrugged off my concerns and said he'd have it back to us in no more than 2 hours. We stayed in the vicinity, waiting for the repairs. We attempted to reach Jacob via text, phone and Facebook message. Jacob didn't reply until after 5 pm, citing an issue he thought he'd discovered. We /again/ attempted to communicate our frustrations - at this point we'd advised Jacob that the "issue" he stumbled across was ONLY an issue with computers that DID NOT have the SPECS required to play the game. The SPECS we went over with verbatim with Jacob and asked for before we purchased the computer. After we'd advised him of this - Jacob did not reply for the rest of the night. Tuesday, February 26th, we reached out to Jacob advising we would be there by 6 pm to pick up the computer, fixed or not, we wanted what we'd paid for back. Jacob confirmed, via text message, that the computer would not be ready by our lunch hour, 2pm, but that I get off at 5:30 and could make it there /before/ they close at 6 pm. He replied, again citing the issue we repeatedly told him only triggers /if/ the computer doesn't have the specs that we supposedly paid for. Jacob did not reply, and I went to his office as soon as I got off work at 5:30 pm. I showed up approximately fifteen minutes before they closed, and attempted to get Jacob on the phone. I reached a female rep for RJ Technologies who told me that they close at 5:30pm on Tuesdays. After firmly telling this rep that Jacob CONFIRMED this time, she told me he would be calling me back. Jacob called me back 5 minutes later and told me he waited until 5:55 to leave - my phone clearly shows I called them at 5:54 pm and there is only one door out of the building. Catching him in this lie had Jacob quickly switching gears getting aggressive saying he'd spent "more time than we were worth" on this issue. I requested a refund, and after an aggressive and lengthy back and forth Jacob declined, but confirmed he had possession of the computer.
In response to the seller calling my game a counterfeit - let me sit here and PLAY IT ON MY NEW COMPUTER. Nice try,...

I have known Jacob for about 2 years and truly thought I could trust him. I own two businesses and rely on my phone for high-quality content, so I took it in for a glass repair on the back and to fix two dust spots in the camera.
On Sept 18th, I dropped my phone off at 10am. Jacob told me it would be ready the next day. When I came back, I was told âwe tried to call youâ (even though I had no phone). Jacob then claimed the screen yellowed from âmoisture.â Later, I found out an employee had actually burnt my screen. They promised an overnight replacement, then said FedEx âstoleâ it.
I was given a loaner phone for one day, but it didnât connect to service, leaving me without communication while driving long distances. When I finally got my phone back, the screen dimmed abnormally, the camera was worse than before, and dust spots remained. Every time I returned, I was told it would be done in âa couple hoursâ or âby tomorrow,â but there was never follow-up no calls, no emails. This process went on from Thursday Sept 18th to Wednesday the following week. My husband and I always had to call (when they didnât dodge our calls) or physically drive there. This is a 30 min drive. 1hr round trip
By Wednesday, the day before a wedding I needed to shoot on my iPhone, the phone was still in terrible condition glue on the edges, dots in the lens, telephoto not working, and the screen still dimming. Staff brushed it off and said it looked ânormal.â I was very clear when I called a month prior what repairs I needed and what it was for. I am a business owner this took much time away from my business with no proper expecting of when I could expect a proper fix.
I told Jacob directly that I respected him as a person but no longer trusted him with my phone. He offered to reimburse me for the cost of repairs elsewhere. Since then, he and his wife have dodged calls, been dismissive, and refused accountability. My husband even waited at their office for a couple hours with a response with much attitude just trying to get in writing he would reimburse us after HE verbally offered. âI donât know when heâll be back.â totally fine if he was with a client but still no communication on when we could respect a response other than âheâll call youâ. We were told this on Wednesday and now itâs Monday at 10:46. No calls. We met them with kindness and on Wednesday Sarai was quite hateful and reactive to the situation. We just wanted them to care and be self aware enough to admit their lack of professionalism and take responsibility.
Because of their mishandling, lack of communication, and broken promises, I had to scramble to find a solution elsewhere before the event. The experience was stressful, costly, and deeply disappointing.
In response to comment below:
He offered to reimburse then dodged my calls after. You all further damaged my phone and made it worse than before I brought it in. You destroyed my property. Poor expectations were given and as a business owner a strong character to implement is a reasonable eta to expect completion of repairs. We only came back and asked for the offer in writing to reimburse us after it was offered. You all lied to me and have extremely poor business practices. You do not have integrity and do not do the things you say you will do. The phone was unusable and still was not fixed after consistently being told it would be fixed in 24 hours. I did not demand. Jacob offered. Again, your consistency, constantly victimizing yourself, and for the damage and inaccurate expectations is extremely disappointing. I wish you all the best and I am authentically sharing my experience as it happened.
My husband simply came to talk to Jacob. You told him Jacob would be back so he said down to wait. We can help you didnt give an ETA until around 5:50. What is intimidating about him sitting at your office for a simple conversation with Jacob? You have been quite reactive and emotional. I am simply asking for you to put your emotion aside and look...

So shortly after I wrote this review, the computer died due to the repairs listed bellow being preformed slowly. The screen fo the iMac fell flat off the computer. Initially Jacob did not want to preform a refund and repair the machine. After waiting an unacceptable amount of time, they finally agreed to refund me. However, I never received a dime back.
I texted with Jacob for months and he kept saying things like "I'll do it this afternoon" or "Ill look at it ASAP" but nothing was ever refunded. I was way out of my window for me to file a claim with my credit card company, so I decided to make my case in small claims court in January this year. In court an LLC cannot represent itself. Jacob showed up to represent himself so the Judge gave us a new date. Afterward Jacob approached me wanting to settle. I gave him my address so he could mail me a check.
I received the settlement (It was $100 less than I was asking for, since I accounted for some lost time and gas in damages, but whatever) BUT GUESS WHAT....
The check bounced. They wrote me a bad check, which for the amount of the check is actually a felony in the State of Tennessee. Before I could actually get charges filed, Covid hit.
This company, while maybe they have a lot of ok, fine transactions, has shown me that when they screw up, they can't take the responsibility for it. They have very competitive prices, but you're taking a massive risk spending your hard earned money here.
Original Review: I bought an 2013 21.5 iMac from RJ technology a couple of weeks ago with a couple of upgrades. He installed more ram and put an SSD into it. Itâs a more advanced procedure on this particular model because the display has to be removed to do those upgrades. They did a mostly decent job however the WiFi antenna was not working when I got the computer home. They made a great effort to fix it. I brought it back a week later and they squared it away although the display reinstall was a little sloppy cosmetically. Itâs attached but not flush like it should. Not worth a return trip for a repair. Itâs hardly noticeable.
I do think with very minimal effort the experience could be improved. A cleaner shop would be a great start. It doesnât instill a lot of confidence when parts and pieces are scattered everywhere. I think a small price increase for a part time employee to clean and organize the shop would be a good business move. Maybe that person could even place orders for parts and stuff. Maybe some fresh furniture would be good.
Another small thing I noticed going in was that the iMac that I bought was advertised as having a Retina display. It doesnât. However I noticed that and still thought I was getting a good deal.
My impression is that RJ technology has a lot of potential and fits well into the market. In the end I have a great functioning computer for a small Pro Tools setup in my apartment. I do however believe that at least cleaner shop would improve credibility and would help the company operate more efficiently and produce better work. Jacob was friendly enough. You can tell he interacts with a lot of customers.
Also I do believe itâs worth noting, that in the computer repair industry, itâs completely impossible to please everyone. Iâm walking away with a very neutral opinion. I would return under specific...
