Visited in July 2017 as a family with a 11yo child. This northernmost beach in the Kalaloch area of Olympic National Park is just off Highway 10. The logs seem small and unimportant from the distance. Only when you get closer, you get the understanding of whats’ been happening here. The huge driftwood that rubbed shoulders with the dinosaurs and spent past several thousands of years in the Pacific Oacean, gets washed onto the beach until the next storm. Climbing on and around enormous piles of hundreds-years-old driftwood is not an easy matter. Not only the logs are unstable and constantly shifting, the feeling is to be back into the pre-historic times. This beach is a sort of a time machine that actually exists. We walked along the beach, waiting for the sunset to lighten up the ruby-like crystals in the sand. The colours took our breath away. Follow me on Instagram @joyofthemoment.travel...

Once on the other side you’re forced to climb through brambles and over branches all the while sinking into the muddy clay slope. I almost lost my boots. Once you can actually get back to the beach it’s awesome! The drift wood, the flat stones, starfish, makes it worth it. The weather was nuts when I was there, raining and hailing and windy one minute and then sunny the next. Overall, it was a weird...
