Very affluent area high above laguna beech about a 3 mile uphill drive to the peak off pacific coast hwy. Aliso peak accessible from a small residential street and if you are discreet and respectful this spot may continue to be accessible for night hikes down the 100 yard trail from the street parking which also has several public park overlooks but you can only see catalina island by taking the trail to the right just before the cul de sac where there is a guard station watching for the safety of this gated community's residents. Catalina harbor lights visible in the middle between the gleam of lightto left on ocean surface (which was bright for 1/2 hr b4 suddenly disappearimng while I turned my head to send txt of this photo) Light to right was a slow moving ship which finally pulled into the islands harbor.
