Silver River — Attraction in Ocala

One of our favorite rivers to kayak. We were there in January and had some days in the 70s. We saw many different bird species, the wild monkeys, alligators and manatees. We had a 2 day canoeing trip. We saw all kinds of wildlife including rhesus macaques monkeys, turtles, alligators, storks, hawks, herons, and several other types of birds. This place is fantastic for wildlife. But park down river at Rays, so u can go the 5 miles down stream. Get there before 11am so you can get a parking spot. Even the younger aged people had a hard time paddling upstream! I even saw 2 monkey's near the 4 mile marker. But. I been told they come out to the water's edge about anywhere.
