Recommend for wheelchair users! They have a great wheelchair lift which easily gets u on board. I am a wc user and was able to sit with husband and daughter on left side of pontoon boat. I called ahead and reserved 3 seats and they had a bench and wc area waiting for us, which was great. If u can get them to reserve the right side seats I suggest it; most of the wildlife sightings seem to be on that side. The guides, Karen and Tim were friendly and helpful, and Tim, especially, appeared to be quite knowledgeable about the area and ecology. He had a spiel, of course, but he really did seem to know his stuff. I give the narration an A+! The area is just beautiful and the cruise is a great way to get some familiarity with the flora and fauna of wetlands Florida. Bring binoculars if you have them. We saw many manatees while on the boardwalk but very difficult to see them in the river setting because the water is not transparent as the springs are. The boardwalk is very accessible also; I use a manual chair and the grades are doable for a 60 + gal. Really enjoyable, accessible outing for anyone using a wheelchair or who has...
Read moreWent on a cruise tour with friends on a whim. Captain Tim did a fantastic job of keeping us entertained and educated during the entire cruise. There is a restroom on board during the two hour cruise. A limited selection of snacks and drinks are also available for purchase on board. There is a wheelchair lift available so those with limited mobility can also enjoy the wildlife and views offered during the tour. We went during the cold snap so there were fewer manatees to be seen in the river feeding. This is the main event of the cruise, Captain Tim takes the boat out of the main channel and into the less traveled parts of the river to show the guests the manatees feeding on the vegetation of the river. He also highlights the other wildlife dependent on the river. There are opportunities to see alligators warming themselves in the sun, and other various birds that call the St. Johns River home. I would consider the cost of the tour is worth the views of seeing the manatees and other wildlife in their...
Read moreI had a wonderful time on the two-hour river cruise! We saw so much wildlife—quite a few alligators, lots of cool birds (including an owl!), and even some turtles soaking up the sun. It was peaceful, scenic, and full of little surprises along the way.
Rebecca was both hilarious and incredibly knowledgeable, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. She kept us entertained while also sharing fascinating facts about the area and its wildlife. And shoutout to Randy, who was so helpful and attentive—he’s the one who spotted the owl for us!
