St Louis Canyon — Attraction in LaSalle

This was a great hike !! We parked in the big parking lot by the canal. There was a visitor's center which I can't rate because we got there early an it wasn't open. They did have port-a-johns available tho. We walked past the visitor center, took the stairs past the lodge, visited the canyon then halfway back the trail splits an we took the trail that brings you out on the left side of the parking lot. This trail went through a very marshy section with not near as nice views. There was maps available but with a sign stating that they will be going paperless in 2023...

Experience this canyon in every season. You will see it transform every few months. I especially love visiting this canyon in the wintertime. Witnessing a running frozen waterfall is mystical. This is my favorite canyon. I adore its deep, vast walls, the sand and little caves and boulders. Every season it transforms, but please, come when the snow falls. Eagles migrate here between November-March… you may see them fly in pairs over your head like we did. Truly a...

Awesome hike that isn’t too long or strenuous. There was a big flight of stairs to climb up, but other than that, it wasn’t too hard.
