We have gone to 99 Speedway off and on for the last 20 years. We went on 7/3/2019 for fireworks night. That will be our last visit. It was the most poorly ran event we have ever been to. Their website states that racing begins at 6:00 pm. Racing did not begin until 7:30. We got to watch the exciting event of qualifying at 6:00. Once racing began, it was one delay after another. There was more down time than racing. People buy their tickets to see racing, not an empty track. Before each race the cars must take a minimum of 5-6 laps before the race begins. After a caution it takes them forever to get the race restarted. Why not start single file? After the race you should have the next race going within minutes instead of at least 15-20 minutes. If the fire marshal would have been there, he/she would have shut down the event. The crowd was large and track management was not ready. No extra restrooms, concession stands or provisions to deal with the large crowd. The top concourse was so crowded it would have been impossible to evacuate in the event of an emergency. The restroom/concession lines were 30-60 minutes long. There were many families there (I am assuming to watch the fireworks). The fireworks did not begin until 9:30. By then, many kids were asleep. At 9:30 there had only been one main event ran. The fireworks was over at 10:00 and they still had three main events left to run. We left then. I have no idea if they were able to complete the program or what time the final race concluded. We had to laugh when the track announcer apologized for the delays. He blamed it on circumstances beyond their control. No, the reason is simple:...
Read moreI bought the 20 Lap RWE Stockton Speedway package from Groupon as a surprise gift from my husband and felt it was a great deal until I saw the look on my husband's face after getting out of the race car.... PRICELESS!!!!
The folks at the track were awesome to work with. They offered us several options with no pressure. We opted for the insurance package (a no brainer), added an additional 10 laps for $59 (bargain), photo plaque (want to see a grown man cry in appreciation?), a $5 pit pass for myself to see up close (worth every penny) and finally a GoPro video package for $39. Earlier in the week I added a 5 lap ride-a-long, yeah it added an additional cost but was well worth it. The only issue we had was that the GoPro Video didn't record. I know, bummer but they did offer to issue a credit on Monday when the office opens.
All in all this was such a great experience. My husband who is a huge NASCAR fan has been riding/racing Cloud 9 since we left the track. In fact he was so amp up on adrenaline I had to drive home. What a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the sport from the track & driver perspective. Everyone in our group had a great time. We made friends and it was fun to see the camaraderie the guys had talking about each of their experiences. Money...
Read moreThe New Stockton 99 Speedway There needs to be better safety and security in the grandstands and parking lot tonight after the races I was trying to leave but a newer gmc 1500 pickup truck parked incorrectly blocking my car and many others in. When I asked the driver to move he came at me with a knife and told me he was going to make my fat ass bleed and backed me against my car lucky my door was open and I was able to get inside but he try to hold my door open I was able to get my car in gear and drive off nearly hit two cars. Because of the event I will no longer be going to a track I grew up at and have been going to for my whole life it’s no longer safe and honestly hasn’t been for awhile. He had the knife with him in the track and he had way too much to drink at the beer booth tonight. There need to be something done before someone get hurt or killed due to...
