One of the most beautiful walks I've ever been on. Wildflowers and bucolic pastoral beauty to one side and stunning sea cliffs and caves to the other. A couple of secluded coves to play on the sand redeemed the trip for the kids who were really mad we weren't at the "real" Santa Cruz (aka, the boardwalk). But I prefer this a hundred times over. Trail was flat enough for kids and probably even a stroller (we're coming out of a very wet winter and it rained just a few days ago, so there was some rutting and a few big puddles that would have made a stroller tough today ... But it doesn't look like that's the norm. Parking was $10, but on the way out we saw a bunch of people street parking and scrambling up a little path that appeared to lead into the park... So I might try that if I didn't have little kids with me.

This is an overlooked of a nature preserve where there are always lots of birds chilling out on the sand. You can reach this spot by parking in the Wilder ranch parking (parking fee) or you can ride in on your bicycle. This is a beautiful ride on a bike path from Santa cruise that is paved most of the way until you get to the Wilder path where it turns into dirt/sand. Most of the trail is pretty smooth but there are sections that's washboard, sand, and rocks.

This spot is beautiful. It is an easy hike from the parking lot to the coastal part of the trail, an gone can make it. I am typically in fairly good shape so I am easily able to do the entire hike running or walking, but I think anyone should be able to walk it. The trail is flat but can be muddy after rain so wear proper shoes. There are no water fountains so bring water. The parking costs 10$

Beautiful stroll along the coast. There were plenty of people walking, running, biking, enjoying the sites. No fishing allowed. Nice strolls paths down to the ocean with coves and other areas of interest to explore. Many wild flowers and sea life to watch. If you go far enough you can see local farms and there are Porto potties a couple miles from the trail start.

Great place to spend a few hours or a half day walking along the mighty Pacific Ocean. On our last trip we saw lots of seals playing off the beach where the kids could splash in the surf. Fun for the whole family but please be safe near the cliffs and the ocean. Keep the kiddos close.

A beautiful trail along the coast in Wilder State Park. The trail is mostly flat and not too strenuous with great views overlooking different alcoves along the coast. The only downside would be the mountain bikers that treat the trail like a highway.
