This park is probably up there in one of my favorite places, worldwide. Yes, guaranteed I haven't yet seen as much of this big beautiful planet but this park is a refreshing escape from the city or the world's chaos in general.. It's well organised, the people are friendly, and there's almost always something new to discover or see everytime I go there. There's deer frequently running about and I've not seen any homeless dwellings within a mile radius along river. It's also very Clean.
All the good stuff about it attract A LOT of people so weekends and most relatively warm summer evenings have the park crowded, there's almost always children on a class field trip! So If you're an early riser, try sunrise walks instead of sunset. I generally avoid it on weekends if I can. The biking trails are verrryyyy busy. And it's a super popular...

Also a lot of events kick off here, such as the inaugural Run The Parkway races, which was wonderful last November. People fish and mountain bike, walk, run, and cycle through here. Good restroom facilities. And on the north side you have the beautiful bridge crossing the river, for sightseeing, and another park just on the other side. Lots of turkeys and not just the...
Read moreThis park is a wonderful spot for family and solo adventure whether you are biking, walking, or picnicking. ADA friendly and pet friendly. Clean bathrooms well spaced along the bike trail in various park sections. Bring a hat and water. Scenic, well kept grounds and the bike trail along the river is wonderful. Do exercise situational awareness as the trail is multi-use. Our 5k was met with many other trail users and we also saw deer, ducks, and many different birds and insects. Excellent natural scenery. We on the return leg of our trip picked up strewn water bottles and a snorkel we found along the trail. Trash and recycle- we are all in...
