Wolfe Ranch Cherries — Attraction in Brentwood

I have been picking cherries and peaches here for several years. The family is warm and welcoming and the orchards are very well kept and easy to walk through. The fruit is wonderful--a burst of freshness when you bite into a cherry or peach. Their daughter also grows heirloom tomatoes that are the best I've had.. I never buy from the grocery stores while our Brentwood farms are offering their harvest. My new favorite orchard! I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of cherries available and pretty much all the trees we taste tested had sweet cherries. They have some large corals, bings, rainiers and tulares which are all color coded on the tree trunks. Most trees also had fruit lower to the ground which made for easy picking for younger children. Way way over priced to the point of making you almost feel like cheating to get your money's worth. $50 for a box comes out to almost $6 or $7 lb and I'm sorry but thats just crazy. Even if you had a middle person like a supermarket to account for, that would be to much.

I'm not cheap by any means but we as consumers need to stop blindly paying these prices or we're going to spend ourselves...
