We had such a great time today it was awesome. There are a bunch of fun activities to enjoy at this spot.
At the pool area, there's a $2 fee per person. Throughout the day, they have multiple 15-minute breaks just for adults (18 and over) to swim. I’ve taught my son that when the sprinklers turn off, it means it's time for all the kids to exit the pool and stand behind the white line that goes around the outside of the pool.
Just a heads up they're very strict about what’s allowed in the pool. No snorkeling gear, noodles, foam tubes, donut floaties, arm floaties, or beach balls basically, anything that helps you float but isn’t secure. However, life vests that zip or clip are allowed again it cant be filed with air for little ones, along with a few small toys. They have some life jackets available for the little ones and adults. You just have to exchange your driver's license for the life jacket and when you're ready to go, you'll just return the jacket and you get your ID back.
They also have some picnic tables to the right side along the fence that divides the pool for you to go eat, they do not allow any food near or around the pool.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall, we had an...
Read moreFirst Pokémon. . Lots of them, second a pokemon gym. Now, (update) They are understaffed, not enough life guards. This is truly a problem, it force the pool management to limit the pool service to just a few handful. So if you wanna enjoy some pool time, make sure you get there early or expect loooong, wait times and lines If you need to take a break from the heat this is the place, they have a public pool with deep zone, 8ft, also a medium zone 3-5 foot that also have a built-in seat to rest if you are an older person or simply want to watch your kids play, there is a toddler area that also has a water fall mushroom where you can get completely soak or simply get a water massage, this park also has basketball court, small green area to play with kids or simply have a picnic, but if you rather shade it also have picnic area with roof table and seating. If you still need more, it also has a playground and an open wooden table area under a gigantic tree where you can enjoy eating while watching your kids. And if you need more this place as long have tennis court, with instructor available for a price or just rent the court for an hour. Great place for...
Read moreToday I visited a grand total of six community pools. Gatlin Rec was the furthest away, and despite that, it is the only pool i visited that i would visit again. Theyre the only location i visited where their hours were readily avaible, they were open as they said they were, and the staff were confident on exactly when they would be open again next. It is unfortunate that the bar for community pools is so low, but Fort Gatlin exceeds this bar and more; the staff are friendly and confident in their work, the facility is clean and well kept, and the pool was accessible both to myself (communication impared and physchally impared) and to others in the community such as other visitors i saw be accomdodated for blindness or other physical disabilites during my visit. Over all: spacious and clean pool, good staff, and the 2$ entry fee is simple (although cash only, and may be an issue for some, and i was glad i happened to have cash. I would recommend they allocate funds for a...
