Brooks Lake — Attraction in Conyers

If you enjoy camping and are fully prepared for weather then you’ll love this place!

We wanted to take the kids camping for spring break and everywhere was booked up. I did more searching and came across this hidden gem of a place. The owners met us upon arrival and they were so kind and laid back. They led us to our site and made sure we were happy with it. They sell firewood and ice for a reasonable price. We chose primitive style camping (no electricity, no water). The site was spacious and perfect for an 8-10 person size tent. The views are beautiful no matter where you set up. They do have bathrooms (be prepared to walk depending on where you set up).

We booked for 3 nights and unfortunately with 2 kids and two dogs we were not fully prepared for the cold after having such nice weather recently. One of our pets also busted one of the air mattresses. We came to the conclusion that we just couldn’t hack it and decided to leave early. The owners noticed the empty site before I had time to let them know and they reached out to make sure everything was ok.

We will definitely be back when it’s warmer and be better prepared...

We found this place on our way to visit Monroe, Ga. The drive into the campground was a little scary at first, however the camping experience was right on! We had power hookups for our RV and there were larger campers on other sites. Water was brought to our camper but note there aren't sewer dumps on the grounds. The bathhouse was outdoorsy and the men's shower wasn't in order when we visited. The women had a clean shower and was more of a family shower type of room that we used. The staff was caring, kind, and lived at the lake. It was a great time as we enjoyed the fire...

On Friday June 18 2021. Myself and 3 other friends went to this lake to picnic and fish. We had the BEST TIME here !!!! Kade greeted us and explained a lot about the lake. It’s a $10.00 fee per fisher person … not a problem. So we found a great spot. Grilled hot dogs on a little grill we brought. And just had a BALL It was sooo quite and peaceful and beautiful there. One of the girls did catch a fish !!! We will definitely be back. It’s a great location and close to home. The reason I only gave 4 stars is we didn’t catch more fish.
