A beautiful area set aside for public enjoyment of nature. I hiked around the eastern two reservoirs starting at the Rt. 42 parking lot and had an excellent hike. Note: at the time of my visit (June 2022) the western end of the Roaring Creek Trail is closed for bridge repairs, but due to a notification on the DCNR website, I knew this ahead of time and was able to plan around it.

The main trail is a logging road, straight and uninteresting. We took the smaller Foot Bridge trail to cut across, and that was more interesting, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with weak ankles; there's a lot of walking on rocks that are not stable. I love that the deer population is controlled so that new growth has a chance to take hold.

Hiked the headwaters and homestead trail. Got a little off course and ended up going an extra 2 miles. So it took about 5.5 hours to complete. I did it with a stroller and 2 year old (would not recommend that) but would do again now that I know what to expect. I would download a map before going as there is no cell service!
