Have come here for over a decade, but some time last year they began using a new cleaner with a heavy fragrance that smells SO STRONG. I live surrounded by laundromats in a packed apartment with poor insulation and it's stronger than all of those things combined.

I've now lost hundreds of dollars having to leave two trips as soon as I arrived as a result. The second, at a rustic cabin, I assumed wouldn't be as bad as there's no bathroom to clean inside, but it was worse than the modern cabin. They not only saturated the inside, but dumped the leftover cleaner outside around the cabin, so you can't even sit outside without tasting portapotty and you can't wash it away. The worst thing is that the things that need to be cleaned like the beds are still full of hair and food crumbs. That's far more important than coating a cabin floor with perfume for no reason. Not only is it really gross and migraine inducing, it's extremely deadly to the ecosystem and animals living there to be using something like that and dumping it into the ground right next to the creek. We shouldn't even wash out hands with soap in a creek and they're dumping industrial perfume cleaner into the ground.

It's devastating to see such a wonderful place polluted like this for no reason. I've never been to another state park that uses perfume like that- especially not dumping it all over the ground outside. I hope they change it some day. Unfortunately I can't afford to keep paying hundreds of dollars without a refund to try and find out. Office worker is really...

This was my favorite getaway for years. Have spent thousands of dollars staying here. There were often problems with (lack of) cleaning (especially the bathrooms and the modern cabin,) but always stuck it out. The last stay was the final nail in the coffin and I'm devastated. The staff here are very nice and friendly, but politeness isn't enough anymore.

For some reason, they switched to HEAVILY fragranced cleaners or air freshener that smell like a mix of dollar store perfume, swiffer, and spoiled milk. It was so strong it overpowered all wood smoke smell and caused an immediate migraine. The cabin was coated with it and I assume other areas as you can even smell it from outside on a walk. I brought it up and they said they'll continue using the new cleaner as it was "highly recommended." On top of that they refused a refund and cancel the rest of my stay despite me still being within policy (agreeing to forfeit the first night.) I lost hundreds for that stay and had to pay $50 in cancellation fees for the others I had planned for the year.

If you come to the woods for fresh air, camp fires, to escape the city fumes, and aren't into horrible fragrances, you may want to reconsider staying here. If you're into the atmosphere of a cheap hotel or walmart fragrance aisle, you may not be bothered by it. I've never encountered a park willing to make the whole place smell like that while also being so resistant over the years to actually cleaning things that need it like bathrooms. I will miss this...

Loved the ambience in the park. If you are looking for peaceful get away for the weekend, this is the place to go. We were a group of 4 & luckily got to book a cabin just 2 days before memorial weekend. It was a rustic cabin though. There was microwave oven, fridge, induction stove, wood log fire area inside, 2 bunk beds, a table for 4 . Fire pit & grill outside . We stayed in cabin #8, There was no wash basin/sink & no pans at all which was the main problem. We carried food , blankets , sheets , water , coal , wood & other basic needs from home. Shower area is good & we used the restrooms available in it. It is maintained well. There was a creek just behind our cabin & the view is perfect & very calming. Easy access to hike in the trails by the creek, fishing. Park office is just 2 mins drive from the cabin. Adam falls trail hike & Flat bed rock trail hike are a mile away. The adam falls hike is rocky & you would need hiking shoes. Its about 40-45 mins hike. Flat bed rock trail is flat & you would reach point where there is sliding rock & you can play in the water if temperatures is good. There are lot of picnic spots through the park & great for hanging out with friends & family.

Note - there is no phone signals in the area & plan ahead. Must recommend place for people looking for calming get away with no phone signals & switch off life from gadgets. Beautiful...

Linn Run State Park Cabins We stayed in cabin number 6 which is for the maximum of 2 people. The cabin is small and quaint, with a wood burning fireplace, electric heater, electric stove, microwave, and refrigerator. The beds are twin sized with a mattress each. You will need to supply your own bedding. Water is available a short distance away, as well as pit toilets. In the shower house which is centrally located there are flush toilets and two showers in each the men's and the womens. Each of the 10 cabins is nestled a fair distance from each other which gives you some sense of serenity. There is a trickling Brook which winds its way through the area of the cabins. When we visited in September it was still flowing. I don't know if it flows year round. Bugs were at a minimal, as well we did not see a lot of wildlife, which was surprising. I am amazed at places so green and lush. In California we travel great distances to find gems like this, yet this looks like everyone's backyard in Pennsylvania. We hiked Grove Run Trail, it too about 3 hours. The trail is well delineated, with orange bands on the trees. There were three places we had to hop over logs along the trail as well as two places we had to scramble under downed trees. I would consider it an easy to moderate hike. At the trailhead is a great spring which locals say flows year round.
