You have to call well in advance to reserve. It is great for getting the entire family to a nice quiet place. The Park can get quite busy these days. So it is worth it to have a place to setup for food and respite during the day. Bring battery power inverter and hand sanitizer. As there are only primitive facilities nearby.

I ended up climbing up boulders that someone was nice enough to mark the way with red arrows. I didn't stay on the path and ended up way past any human trails somehow not initially. My advice make sure you stay on a well beaten human path unless you want to explore away from people 😉.

This is your sign to go hike this trail! The Narrows are absolutely gorgeous! It's a little challenging, but if you look a little hard you can find a path and hike really far through the canyon!

Rented this place for my wedding.

Pros: great view Supposed to be rental only Great hiking trail On site bathrooms On site wash station Beautiful cliff side location with built in altars overlooking a winding stream and forest

Cons: hikers show up and do not care that it is a rental only property, and will park in the guest parking spot and demand you lock up behind them....

This is near the end of a trail for the Forty Foot Hole in the Wichita Wildlife Refuge. The hike was a total of .85 miles round trip for this spot and was not too bad. It was a lot of stepping on rocks during elevation gain, but was very fun. Little kids would probably love it, just be sure to keep an eye on them since there is a big drop off about 10 to 15 feet...
