Like a couple of the reviews said, do not go with a group of people. You're safe with 6 or less.
I've been going to this winery for over 10 years now and have a hate/love relationship with it. The wines are great, the view is wonderful and entertainment (when there is some) is always fun. It's very laid back. Until this past Saturday, I would've given this place 5 stars, now it's probably a 2 because of how we were treated. I've never seen the people that were working there before. And I've been there many MANY times. We had a group of about 15 that were coming/going that night. Starting the moment we walked in the staff were ordering us what we could and could not do. First, they started by telling us the 3 table/12 chair rule. Ok, fine. We did that. Secondly, we had brought a crock pot which we were not allowed to have. They told us, we unplugged it and went on with our night. They babysat that through the night to make sure we didn't have it on. Thirdly, my husband being a non-drinker had brought in non-alcoholic beer. We were scolded about that pretty good. We had done this at least 3 times. I had called the first time a few months ago asking if they sold non-alcoholic beer there and explained that he doesn't drink but wants to partake in the fun. I then asked if he could bring some in and they said no issue. Even when we showed up they gave us an opener stating to just bring it back before we left. But Saturday night was a big issue and they let us know. If that's the case, then serve non-alcoholic beer. So everything they told us not to do, we did not do. More people ended up coming up and I told them that we could not have any more chairs/tables. So they decided to just sit there and not pull anything together. About an hour later, a VERY rude guy came up and said he would have to take some chairs/tables. So he was going to make the new people move/or kick them out. Finally, after taking enough heat, we went up to the bar and asked if we could speak to a manager. Zero manager on site which is absurd. The rude guy interrupted us stating we were told this and that before . He wouldn't listen to us and just kept on interrupting us and in the end he said we could leave if we didn't like the rules ( I recorded this in case I ever need to provide this to a manager). Mind you, this was at 3:30 we showed up so it was not busy AT ALL. We had purchased numerous of bottles of wine. There's a way to go about certain things, and the workers that night did not do it right. He just kept on telling us that all the rules are posted here and there. It just seemed like we were being picked on all night and that we were unwelcome there.
We ended up leaving due to the scolding and may never return unless with a small group. My family has rented out the other building many times for private parties that we may never do again, which makes make said because I loved it there. I have friends that work there and were so embarrassed after I told them what...
ย ย ย Read moreWent there today for my father's birthday, it was one of the worst experiences. We had a lot of people so we needed multiple tables. They have a limit of 3 tables per party which is fine, but the staff was EXTREMELY rude about it. They told us that we couldn't have the fourth table we had and the staff member literally yanked the table away from us while we were sitting at it (this was after being told about this policy for the first time). We didn't refuse to get up or anything we said "ok". Then later on that same staff member told us we could have the fourth table since it was slow, then 5 minutes later more people came in and once again we were confronted very rudely saying that we couldn't have the fourth table anymore. Another staff member told us that we couldn't have it anymore and then the other one that we had dealt with since the beginning very rudely said "this is why I didn't want you guys to have this table because I knew this was going to happen." Once again he told us we could have it. I understand they have rules but staff can enforce them in a polite way, and not offer an extra table just to take it away again in 5 minutes and pretend like it's your fault not theirs. I was not impressed, I won't...
ย ย ย Read moreBeautiful scenery and venue. Good wine. Horrible Service. Found winery on the internet looked like a beautiful place to visit. First time visitor (2 hour trip) will not go back. Was at bar trying to sample wines. Bartender appeared to be extremely bothered by me and friend tasting samples. In my experience wine tasting is to be savored, we had no experience with their wines. Bartender (A older woman) keep asking us if we were ready to buy something. (Did not offer a tasting flight that we could have taken to a table to sample). Finally after being rushed I purchased only 4 bottles of wine, then me and my friend asked about food and was told that we should have mentioned that before we rang out. We left after only spending 15 minutes at the winery. Had planned to spend the several hours, I would have purchased more if not rushed and had a chance to taste more. I do not recommend Wolf creek to anyone who thinks wine tasting should not be a...
