This place is a gem in the middle of a beautiful setting nestled in the hills of N GA! Just a few mins of fun driving south of Helen. Don’t be confused by the private neighborhood entrance off the highway 88 miles North of Atlanta, wait for it.... Stopped in to check out their Tuscan inspired wines and was not disappointed! The door was open, the weather was beginning of November in GA beautiful, and the wine was ready… Michaela warmly welcomed me with a genuine smile, easy demeanor and explained to me the wineries style and direction. We examined some whites together and please do try their Chard. It sees only 6 months in oak and steel finished with light malolactic happening. A perfect balance that led me to ordering a glass of that for a walk about of the outside areas. Side note: I did try the PG also, of course, and ended up with a bottle of that to go! The walk about included checking out the Grotto. You gotta see it in person! The side chill area that can accommodate multiple big parties in Adirondacks with fire pits and lounging areas is a bonus! Live music was flowing by 2 PM from Jeremiah Osterman, great guitarist! And I was on to the Reds on Serenity’s list. By that point Michaela knew what my palette would enjoy and expertly recommended a taste of an open bottle of Majestic(tastes like it :)) And that’s how I wrapped up this first of many to come visits to Serenity Cellars! Well...
Read moreToday we had been camping and started home and decided to pay Serenity Cellars a visit. The truck we have is not a 4 wheel drive. We were pulling our camper and we started downhill to the winery and we started sliding. We realized we had made a big mistake. We didn't want to cause any damage so we shut our truck and camper down. We realized we were blocking the drive. Thanks to AJ a employee at the winery he took his truck and helped us move our truck and camper out of the drive. AJ went out of his way to help the situation. We didn't want to leave the truck and camper til we could get a tow to help us get out without causing any damage to any property. A staff member came out and said would you like to get a glass of wine while you wait. They brought it to us and was so helpful. We had gotten ourselves in a bad situation and the winery was so hospitable and helpful. The owner of the winery had tour buses headed to the winery and he even assisted to help us once the tow service got there. I know we may have been a nuisance but the winery was still helpful in our situation. Thank you to Serenity Cellars for the help and hospitality. I will recommend this winery to anyone looking for a winery to find wine, music and just a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you again we will be back but next time we won't bring the camper. I highly recommend anyone to try this winery. It is worth the visit. James...
Read moreBeautiful, scenic winery with good wine and great outdoor seating.
Wine -- strong wines. More selection of white wines, but many options to choose from. Tastings can be 5 or higher and gives you two options for each tasting. Wife really enjoyed the La Familia Rosso. They had a dessert port wine, Dolce Bello, that had chocolate and flavors that kept changing and turning after first sip.
Scene -- absolutely beautiful setting. On top of mountain and down in a valley. Main area is pretty inside and they have tons of outdoor seating with firepits. It was a little chilly for outside, but this would be a perfect place to spend hours sipping wine surrounded by trees on a pretty day.
Service -- very friendly and helpful in assisting with wine selection. Staff really get into the wine and helping customers decide. Pours are in a regular wine glasses, a huge bonus compared to other wineries that serve in plastic cups.
Value -- overall fine value for tastings. It's a smaller winery so it's to be expected, bottle of La Familia Rosso was $38.
Overall -- awesome winery tucked away in a mountain. Local, awesome, and not...
