Great trail to ride and commute. Peaceful, scenic, and best of all, no cars! I and many other cyclist ride this weekly and I'm sure, some on the daily. We're in socal! Get out and enjoy the weather and all it has to offer. This trail, along with some roads, will take you from Riverside to Orange county, bypassing the infamous 91...where tolls can be over $10 and speeds at a crawl.

Lots of broken glass lately, telling you this is not a great place to leave your car overnight. No restroom. However, this is a super convenient place to park for a few hours while you ride the trail.

Started at green river rd, very lovely and we saw no homeless people. Didn't make it to the end, got 11 miles out. Nice scenery and the path looked newly paved in some areas

Calling this the "Santa Ana Trail Start" is a misnomer, & a bit misleading. It is the start of the Santa Ana Trail for this section. The trail actually starts up in Loma Linda. Having said that, I have ridden this trail many times including from here to the beach. Note that while technically downhill the whole way from here to Huntington Beach, you'll encounter an afternoon breeze that will make it seem like you're riding uphill if you ride east to west. Best to start early and catch that breeze for your ride back (unless the Santa Ana Winds are blowing, then reverse that). The trail is well maintained. The homeless encampments have been removed. Note, that if you ride this trail you MUST wave and greet riders or pedestrians moving in the opposite direction. It is a local tradition and customary. Non-compliance will be met with marked...

If looking to access Coal Canyon or Sierra Peak (e.g. via the Pipeline Trail), this is an easy place to park. From the parking lot, just head west along the bike trail for about a mile, turn left/south under the bridge and you're good to go. You can also park here for access via Star Ranch (in severe disrepair and apparently deserted as of May 2017) and Telephone Trail, though access relies on a hole in a fence blocking an earlier underpass of the freeway, or presumably backtracking to...

Stop by during the day 11am - 12 pm on a Saturday. Place didn’t looked safe. Broken glass on 3 different lot spaces then dried blood on the sidewalk by the parking....I believe homeless couple watching everyone who passes by just hanging out but mysterious. Then a guy pacing back and forth I believe checking the cars to maybe break into. It just didn’t look safe at all. Some graffiti and trash, condoms ...etc didn’t feel safe. Won’t be coming back I just went back to my car and...
