Nathan Alan Jewelers — Attraction in Costa Mesa

I'm really happy with my experience at Nathan Alan. I came to the store in a panic less than a month before my wedding, still needing a wedding band. After visiting a few other jewelry stores and having no luck, I walked into Nathan Alan expecting more of the same but immediately felt the difference.

Inga, my salesperson, gave me a warm, friendly, and refreshingly honest take on what styles looked best on my hand. The most important thing to me was finding a band that I loved and making sure my engagement ring complemented it. With her guidance, I found a beautiful wedding band and even trusted this jeweler enough to take it a step further and reset my original diamond into a new platinum band to match.

It’s worth noting Inga tried to save me money several times by 1) suggesting I keep my original engagement ring rather than creating a new setting and 2) showing me a wedding band with smaller stones that was just as pretty as the larger version I later selected. She wanted what was best for me and simply paid attention to what I was gravitating towards.

What felt like fate was that the diamonds on my new wedding band equaled the same carat weight as my center diamond, and in my mind, couldn’t have been more perfect. Nathan Alan rushed the order without fees and completed the rings faster than expected. In the process I also learned you can get a size between a size! Size 5 has always been too small on my finger but 5 1/4 is too large. Inga offered a solution called "5+" and it was just right. Why have I never heard of this before?

When I came to pick up, Inga was just as excited as I was, and Nathan Alan went the extra mile to complete a third-party appraisal, which I thought I’d have to handle later. From start to finish the experience was seamless. I walked down the aisle with a wedding set that felt like “me” and I'm over the moon with the results.

Truly a diamond in the rough for so many reasons. I worked with Mark though the whole team is incredible. You can tell they have respect, not only for their customers, but for each other as well. I walked in to Nathan Alan out of the blue looking for a radiant cut diamond. Since they seem to be a cut not a lot of stores have I was excited when Mark said they had one. When I sat down with Mark to look at it he spent nearly an hour listening to what was important to me in selecting a new diamond. Mark is engaging and personable, he answered all of my questions with ease. He is knowledgeable and has great communication skills. He offered to bring in a couple more radiant cuts in the size I was looking for and two days later he had them! Both stones were exactly what I had described to him, absolutely stunning. My husband and I spent 2.5 hours working with Mark to create my new ring and at no time did we feel rushed or pressured, in fact we had a blast looking at so many options. Mark knows the fine details like scale and proportion which proved to be important as we added two smaller stones to the design. Mark estimated the custom made ring would be ready in 4 weeks. After shopping for an engagement ring all over Orange County, my girlfriend (now fiance) and I took a chance and stopped by Nathan Alan Jewelers. Because of the location in South Coast Plaza, we were a bit hesitant with our concern being that their offerings might be a little outside of our price range.

We had such little luck elsewhere though so we decided to give it a try anyway. As we entered, we were immediately greeted by Michael, who was so patient and helpful! We could immediately tell that he was incredibly knowledgable about diamonds, engagement rings, and jewelry in general. He patiently answered every question and went above and beyond to make everything perfect.

What really set Nathan Alan Jewelers apart from the other places we had tried was they offered great pricing, service, and selection. Lots of places can offer you a great price, or excellent customer service, or a large selection but Nathan Alan Jewelers excelled at all 3 and that is just so rare.

I think the highest compliment I can give is that you can really tell that this is a small family-run business. They take care of you like you are their only customer and they take great pride in their work!
