Definitely worth going to. I'm not sure what kind of funding it gets but, it could use some more upkeep. When you pull in there is a big sign that says "by appointment only" so it's super confusing. A quick look on the web clarifies the trails are open to the public sun up to sun down 365 days per year. And yet the entry point into the woods is marked by a single plaquard. You have to download a map to figure out which trails to take. Many of them are closed. Lots of signs read, private property, no entry, etc. Which makes you constantly question whether you are allowed in a particular area. They have sheep, cows, a community garden which I didn't not go into because I had no idea if I was allowed in. They do have an excellent clean bathroom. But nothing is well marked. Did not feel inviting. If there were some more signs explaining the history of the farm or points of interest, that would be really helpful. The Dodge Nature Center - Shepard Farm Property is a beautiful property with many trails to walk through with beautiful scenery and wildlife.
