Furber Farms far exceeded any expectations we had for a wedding venue. From the very beginning of the process, the team at Furber was flexible and worked with us and our busy schedules to discuss logistics. They spent time with us to answer our questions, discuss options, and help us imagine our wedding within their venue. It is evident that the team has put care, intention, and heart into this venue. They recently created a new ceremony space which we were thrilled to use. The new site includes a paved pathway making it easy for guests to navigate while still keeping the feel of a wide open outdoor venue. The venue site does face what could be the parking lot, however, there is a large grassy area out of the background that many cars can park. Two highlights of this venue include the catering and the bar. Adagio DJ is Furber's exclusive DJ. They were fantastic to work with and since this partnership is exclusive, their staff is well-versed in adjusting the sound system both outside and within such a spacious and airy venue. This was especially important to us during ceremony and toasts/speeches so that guests were not straining to hear - regardless of where they were seated. Another exclusive vendor at Furber was Tinucci's bar. They are incredibly easy to work with and very flexible. They, too, are quite familiar with the set-up and made coordinating a breeze. Though Furber does include these two convenient exclusive vendors - we were able to select any vendor we wanted for catering. We loved having the flexibility to shop around and try different types of food to decide what worked for us. We ended up selecting Baba's Catering with absolutely delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Furber's indoor space was spacious enough to fit all of our 250 guests while still affording space for two buffet lines to get our guests through in a timely manner. Our guests were wined and dined efficiently with seamless flow.
Logistics aside - we chose Furber based on feel. We absolutely loved the spacious fields and open view that surround the barn, the stunning white exterior, and the elegant interior of the barn. Because the indoor space has a full set of handmade tables, beautiful top to bottom hardwood, and ambient chandelier lighting, our decoration needs were minimal. We loved that there were sizable men's and women's "getting ready" areas as well as a game room to use for a stress-free and enjoyable morning. Beyond the specifics of the decor and amazing set-up at Furber - we realized during our wedding just how much we loved the two levels of the barn. We utilized both the lower and upper level seating areas and were taken aback as we looked up during toasts/speeches and during our grand entrance to see our friends lining the banister cheering us on. Because of the set-up in the barn - we truly felt surrounded by those we love most. The two levels again provided an unexpected favorite memory of the evening. Our photographer led us to the upper level during the dance so that we could take a moment to watch our guests joyfully dance with each other. We watched as our worlds were blending. Friends of friends were dancing together, our parents dancing with one another, people who hadn't met until our bachelor/ette parties were now singing together at the top of their lungs - and at Furber, we had the perfect vantage point to see it all. We truly enjoyed every minute of our wedding day and cannot imagine it being anywhere else but Furber Farms. Thank you to Angi, Wayne, and Diana for providing the most special space for us to celebrate the most special day...
Read moreI must say that the Furber Farm is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been for a reception, the DJ was GREAT and the food and Caterer were awesome as well!
Problem is, that’s where it ends. As the father of the bride, my time there literally ended when Angi the owner, slamming a door in my face! Which finished off a night of mounting frustrations and disappointments with the management and the way they treated my friends, family and even the people paying the bill. And just in case you are not aware of who these people are they are…your customers.
I have worked in the hospitality, customer service and sales industries for over 30yrs and I have never seen or met any service provider who was less professional and more lacking in communication skills. And when there was communication it was delivered in the most rude, condescending and inconsiderate manner. If I know anything, I know this…the sale does not end with the PO, invoice or signing of a contract and that at that time, I know, I must step up and deliver to the level expected and with an even higher level of professionalism because at that point the customer has not only bought into what I am selling but they have bought into me and my word. This is always the case unless you do not wish to work with that customer ever again? Which sadly, will be the case here and not only with my immediate family but with the 100’s of guests that were present and witnessed it first hand which in the long run will translate to 1000’s of people who will know where "NOT" to have their wedding or reception.
In hind sight, all that glitters is not gold! We would have definitely chosen a much less flashy venue to be served properly and treated...
Read moreMy daughter used the John P. Furber Farm for her wedding reception a couple of weeks ago. Everyone was in awe of this beautiful place. This barn offers everything a bride and party needs to make this day a success. The bridal suite is not only beautiful, but spacious enough for professionals to do hair an make up on-site. The barn is so stunning, you can save a few hundred dollars by not decorating since there really is no need. The barn was open to us all day which gave us plenty of time for set up and hair/make up. The barn owners, Wayne and Angi were so helpful, whenever we had questions or needed anything, they were right there to help. Our experience with them for the last year and a half has been nothing but perfection. The day of the wedding, there was some confusion with the bar service and for whatever reason, it didn't appear we would have any. Wayne and Angi took control and within 15 minutes they had resolved the confusion and our bar service was on it's way. This wasn't their role or responsibility at all, but they just jumped in and helped out. They also were really great about explaining things about the barn we could do to help keep it cool and thank God it was indeed cool and comfortable as a result. They checked in on us throughout the day to make sure everything was working properly for us and were so excited to see us enjoy the barn and have a great day. They really were the kindest people and I felt like they were just more friends sharing our day. Such a great experience and I'm hoping more people we know use the venue so we can spend more time there. I would recommend it to anyone. If there is such a thing as a perfect venue...
