This is nature and art rolled into a really cool nature walk. We had a great time seeing the different art sculptures both on the ground and suspended in the trees. I'm not much of an art kinda guy but there were some REALLY cool pieces in here. Each sculpture has a small plaque on the ground near it with the name and the artist, as well as a QR code you can scan that will take you to their website and explain more about the artist and their creations. It was a beautiful day out so even though there were trees shading the whole trail, it was nice and warm the whole time. Some pieces were hard to find due to them being made from things like chicken wire and suspended from trees but most sculptures were displayed front and center and I was able to get really good pictures of them. There's also a really cool VR display area at the front and after downloading their special app (there's free wifi provided by the park that covers at least the entry area) you are able to scan several different QR codes and then view virtual sculptures in a special roped area using your phone's camera. You can walk around these virtual sculptures to view them from any angle and take pictures of them straight from the in-app camera! It's a very short "hike" and is easy going the whole time so it's a great place to take kids as well. We will be coming back the next time we're in the area.

What a beautiful experience which is lifted to just the right interaction with QR codes that link to information about the art installations. All the wealth of nature, (the birds singing, breeze rustling the greenery, earthy smells of the beautiful forest), with the delights of artistic perspective and ingenuity. A family wondered the trail behind us with their young sons delighted at every installation discovery - so without a doubt a great adventure for the whole family. My only note of potential warning is that "Whimsey Way" is more than I would consider a "gentle slope". Anyone coping with physical challenges should perhaps consider twice, or try a short bit of the way down with the knowledge that the return climb on the end of the loop feels steeper than the first half. I am notably out of shape, so I was not suprised by my heavier breathing, or the bit of burn in the thighs about 3/4 of the return hill; however, I would imagine that if you walk with an aid such as a walking stick this not-so-gentle slope would perhaps prove problematic. If you are just Covid out-of-shape like myself, I say giving it a go is worth it. You can take it slow, commune with the art, and remind your muscles that getting back to life is beautiful. One last note: please take the opportunity to make a donation, they make it so easy and it's definitely a deserving project.
