An amazing place that is truly a unique hidden gem in Indiana. Echoing the comment of another reviewer, Portland Arch Nature Preserve offers the beauty and uniqueness of Turkey Run (one of my favorite state parks) without the crowds (there wasn't a single car in the parking lot when we arrived on a Saturday around 11:30am)! The trail itself isn't very long at coming in at just over a mile, but there are plenty of places to explore and downloading the trail guide ahead of time was very informative in learning about different features as the trail had numbered sign posts along the way (although some were in need of repair to make the number more legible). Hiked 2 loops of rugged trails, about an hour. Signage VERY POOR. NON EXISTENT after parking lot. I did NOT find/see the Indiana Portland Arch.
I blame the DNR due to NO trail signage . Really kind of creepy feeling.
I was glad to get back in the car and onto the gravel road. I'll NOT be returning...
