Whiskey Road Winery, quietly tucked away just south of Fort Worth and Burleson, is so much more than an award-winning, FAMILY Winery. It’s a reminder of the things that are most important in life such as faith, family, and the American Dream. It’s as far from corporate and big box wine as Texas is from California.
This is a truly small business, a family business, where the entire Rowe Family quietly and dutifully cultivate and live on the land, and yes, lovingly make fantastic wine, by hand. Customers can expect to be greeted with a smile and a handshake by owner’s Ben and Jess, and treated with friendly service that’s oozing with gratitude for your patronage. Expect to be asked your name and treated like a friend, instead of a transaction. How many businesses in this day and age still do that?
Oh, you want to know about the wine? The BRAND NEW wine from the winery no one’s ever heard of that’s already winning medals at Grapevine’s Grape Fest (over 40 Texas wineries) and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine Competition (against over 2,500 international wines)? Who in the world does that? Whiskey Road Winery in Grandview, Texas apparently, that’s who.
The Tempranillo, Viogner, Rose, and Syrah are must tries. Their tastings, glasses, and bottles are extremely reasonably priced. Also, word to the wise, be on the lookout down the (Whiskey) road for “Snake Farm”, a Whiskey Barrel Aged Tempranillo. Whiskey Barrel Aged Wine at Whiskey Road Winery? Serendipity.
There’s live music, corn hole, dogs, and a proverbial petting zoo of barnyard animals roaming the grounds, with children laughing and playing all the while. It’s as Family-Friendly as baseball in the summertime. There’s also 4 different types of cider for a taste of something different.
So come fill your glass, grab a seat, or take a stroll through the vineyard. See the Texas and American flags flapping in the wind. Relax, sip, and smile, with the rare satisfaction that you’re not just drinking delicious wine made by the hands of real, honest, hard-working people, but rather, you’re tasting a literal labor of love and an embodiment of the American Dream from a multi-generational family winery with every sip. What could possibly be more Texan or more rewarding than that? A Ben Rowe handshake, perhaps. Come see for yourself (and join the wine club!). Whiskey Road is going places, and I’m not just referring to the take home bottles...
