Ozone Falls State Natural Area — Attraction in Crab Orchard

Ozone falls is breathtakingly beautiful. The water is chilly but trust me, you'll want to go for a swim. It is not an easy walk though! If you're going to the pool at the bottom, be prepared. Even teenage boys had to take a breather climbing those big rocks. You can tell the top is a more popular spot for people to look because it is easy to access even in a wheelchair. I saw a kid with a broken leg and crutches going to it. The hike down to the bottom is worth it. It's just...natural splendor. If you don't have bad knees, do it. We took our dogs and they were ok with the challenge, but one is a mountain dog the other very athletic... if you have small kids... you're going to have your work cut out and you definitely need a 2nd pair of hands. I underestimated the rock climbing aspect of things and suffered for several days after, but I will definitely do it again when I'm feeling up to it! It's so...

Ozone Falls is absolutely breathtaking—a 110-foot plunge into a crystal-clear pool surrounded by towering rock walls and lush forest. The Paddle Frogs crew gathers here within the mist, and the experience is nothing short of magical. Floating right up to the base of the falls with the roar echoing all around feels like stepping into a hidden world.

This spot isn’t just a hike—it’s a full sensory adventure. The cool spray in the air, the dramatic drop, and the peaceful pool below create a powerful contrast of energy and stillness. It’s one of those places that stays with you.

The hike down is steep but short—wear solid shoes. Visit early or late for quiet moments and soft light. If you paddle, be cautious and respectful of the flow.

Tennessee has its share of natural wonders, but Ozone Falls stands out. It’s a must-visit for nature lovers, travelers, and anyone chasing...

This is a place we visit several times a year and never tire if it. I really love going shortly after heavy rains to really watch the glory of the waterfall!

There are some really neat railroad bridges across the street where there is also additional parking. It's a neat place for some pics as well.

The top of the falls are just as pretty as hiking to the bottom. When the water is a little lower you can walk around the top and upstream some. Beautiful colors and scenic places.

The bottom of the falls can be reached with a short hike down the road from the main parking area. It is a little steep and can be slippery so be careful or have some help. I usually have to help just the younger kids or inexperienced, but it's well worth the cool water to swim in!
