The course was in great shape minus the sand traps. There was tire tracks in the sand traps. My biggest feeling was that the staff could’ve been a little nicer I paid $140 to play this course and it was a place I’ve always wanted to play, I am a 3 handicap and shot 73 from the cranberry tees. I got the feeling that this is a place that really wants the locals to play. I’m from the Washington area and drove about an hour to play. There’s some things that I think could be better but first I was an assistant pro at Valley Brook CC and Washington CC and I own my own business in golf. First, you can’t take your cart to your car to get your clubs and that means that you can’t take your bag to your car after. Second, the cart guys were very bland and wanted you to take your own trash out of your cart. Now, I already do that just because I do it to help people out, but I never have had someone say “empty your trash” especially after I paid $140 to play. Third, you can feel that if you are NOT from cranberry they don’t take care of you.
My suggestion is that if you want to play a good course drive 20 mins down the road to Old Stonewall and get A++ treatment. It’s worth the $175 per person. Absolutely will recommend Old Stonewall and I will play Old Stonewall before I go back to...
Read moreI drove 50 minutes to meet up with my girlfriend at this golf course. It was my birthday and we were going to celebrate by playing 9 holes. We were dressed to the 9’s. The bag boy told us that they were falling behind and they wanted to see if we were ok with pushing our T time back by an hour. We were ok with that and began to practice our putting. The bag boy asked us if we have ever played at their course before. I told him no. He asked if we were good at golf. I told him that I played before but I wouldn’t say I’m the best. My girlfriend told him this was her first time. Later on I paid to play and it was about time for us to start. Some other guy that was running golf course approached us and told us that this golf course is really complicated for us woman and he could call around and see if a different golf course would be willing to take us. I got my refund and left without saying a word. I am really offended that this happened to us. I feel like if we were men this would have not...
Read moreFor anyone traveling to the Pittsburgh area and wanting to book a tee time in advance, good luck. Planned a weekend golf trip with a couple of buddies for the first weekend in August of this year. Inquired about tee times towards the end of June/beginning of July. Was told that times open up 7 days in advance of the day that you’re looking to play, but I could email the head Pro to inquire about an advanced reservation. Reached out via the email provided by Terry in the pro shop, only to never get a response. Called 10 days in advance of the day that we were wanting to play on, and was told all of the tee times in the morning are booked. From the reviews we found, the course seems like a must play if you’re in the area, but a really frustrating experience when it came to trying to book a tee time. Mind you, we were a group of four and we’re willing to pre-pay to reserve a spot, but wasn’t given the...
