Pull through campsites on a scenic lake Stopped here just for the night on a long road trip last May. It had been a rainy and snowy week so the campground was almost empty. The sites are arranged along the lake as pull through sites with a picnic table, bench, grill and electricity hook up. We have a truck and 24 ft bumper pull and there was enough space to turn around in the campground lot. The lake is scenic, LOTS of waterfowl. One fisherman in the morning, there was a few dead fish and trash along the lake but otherwise fairly clean. The beach was eroded between the campsite and the water. Staff was friendly. Read moreThere are things subtle but special about this man made lake in south-central Dawes County. In speculating, it's the area in all of it's simple, clean shores. It's quite quiet here, refreshingly so. Always a good night's sleep while camping in your motor home, trailer, tent, or just having your bedroll spread out on top of your ground pad as you gaze up into the night sky growing drowsy after having spent an other enjoyable day out here. Lots of different kinds of fish including Northern Pike that are easy to catch and builds confidence in young anglers. It is an irrigation lake and so suffers from draw down in late summer.
