On a hot summers day this place is hard to beat. After a good rain, the falls flow hard. Lots of fun swimming or chilling out in the shade. Bring a floatie and the main pool has rock outcroppings that are shaded, and give some relief from the Summer sun. Just dont inhale, aspirate, or drink the water. Think brain eating amoeba. Most of the year this stunning waterfall is a cesspool or dryed all the way out. Saw someone get really hurt cliff diving and was able to help carry the lady up the stairs. Never understood the draw jumping in the shallow water off of a rock face, but whatever floats your boat. Which brings me to another point, the only way down to the falls is a slippery rock staircase, so if you're not in good shape, or you don't like stairs, especially the real slippery kind, take note. There is a steel pipe handrail, a smooth wet steel pipe under your hand is not a lot of help. Also, dont drag your feet, broken beer bottle pieces hide among the debris underwater. Dont ask how I...
Read moreFirst of all, if you're looking for the visitors entrance and not the RV Park, it's difficult to navigate to because the road is improperly labeled. The directions will take you to a gate you cannot enter unless you've paid, just FYI. Went down a road that looked like someone's driveway and finally found the place. I did not have to pay for parking, thankfully, since we only spent about 10 minutes here. The water is low and the "falls" are barely a tiny stream, if that. We were going expecting a nice park, especially to do some hiking and then enjoy the views. There's nothing to do other than wade around in dirty water that didn't even go up to a child's waist. Not even mentioning the trash we saw everywhere. Very disappointed that we drove...
Read moreI really had fun. I am even scared of heights but jumped from both rocks and didnt die hahaha. I do recommend having a good pair of fitted water shoes or just going bare foot. The terrain isn't suitable for slick bottom shoes or loose shoes. This is in the woods, so there is wildlife. Although the native creatures won't bother you. The scene is quite enjoyable and pleasant. Almost everyone there is respectful and easy going. Before I even left I was planning with the group I was with about when we'd come back. There is a small concession stand to buy food but they only accept cash and non residents have to pay 10$ for parking. There really isn't a downside to this...
