Nice beach. Not too far of a walk from your vehicle. Plenty of parking available (6am-12am). There are a few gazebos with benches or picnic tables. It allows you to be in the shade if you need for a moment. There are simple public bathrooms with a shower on the outside to rinse off. No fire pits or grills. I picked up a small bag of trash walking along the beach. I’m not sure if it washed up, was from sloppy visitors or blew out of the many trash cans that are available. I think if they had covers it would help so a windy day wouldn’t blow the trash out. The beach is not crowded at all. There are lots of rental houses here on the water and it’s very picturesque. There are many shells washed up so wear shoes to protect your feet. I didn’t find any shells that I wanted to bring home. There are lots of broken ones and just not the prettiest variety (maybe it’s better in the morning). Make sure you bring what you need - I’m not sure if there’s any establishments here selling goods.

Nice place to spend the day with kids and bring...

I haven't been here for 10 years and when I arrived with my girls, I was INCREDIBLY amazed at the transformation. The beach access was clean, family friendly, helpful, safe and easily accessible, including by wheelchair. Parking was very easy to find and free as well. The beach itself and access to the water was also extremely easy. Not covered in white sands, but instead covered by seashells of MANY kinds. Thus, living up to it's name. My family and I enjoyed hunting for unique shells most of the stay. There weren't any lifeguards around though. However, this isn't necessarily a deal breaker. Shell point also had a small boating inlet area opposite the beach access. With newly built condos, beach homes, boat piers and much more, guests will find this location to be a beautiful and unique type of beach community. With locals riding around on their golf carts just to explore, the small beach town charm is complete. Shell point has become a diamond...

Here visiting for vacation for the week, granted there was a tropical storm at the beginning of the week and I'm hoping that's why the beach looks the way it does, but we were really looking forward to seeing the white sand and pretty waters of the gulf but that wasn't what we got when we got here. Instead, we got huge rolls of seaweed all over the beach, the water was covered in seaweed, crabs were everywhere-- almost to the point where our kids couldn't even get into the water to swim which was disappointing to them. I love the fact that there were so many seashells everywhere that we could pick up and take back home with us to remind us of our trip here. We love the town and the area and how secluded everything is. it's honestly a beautiful area but the beach could definitely use some TLC...

Let me preface this with I am from Jacksonville beach, so if you are expecting a legit beach then this isn’t it. This is not the kind of beach where there’s miles of sand and coast. It’s very small. The name says it, it’s covered in shells too. The water isn’t the kind I would go in more than my legs. Parking is tough. BUT OVERALL I had a fabulous afternoon here with my dog and sister. My pup loved running in the water which was shallow enough. We found a nice spot under a tree and relaxed for a few hours. It’s the closed “beach” to Tallahassee so it was a nice get away. We brought our own lunch and just enjoyed the summer sun. So TLDR - is it a legit beach? No. Is it a nice outdoor get away to relax with your friends, family, or pets? Yes!! Just be prepared to fight for parking on a weekend.
