I’m blessed to be able to work a job where I get to go all over the country but more so specifically the northwest. I live in the Seattle metro area and I went to Crescent Beach for a work order solo driving the whole time while completing other work orders on my way.
The whole trip had been one of the most exhausting and frustrating trips I have had, now, combined with the unnecessarily high work stress with my severe home sickness. Spiritually and emotionally I was at a super low point. I wasn’t even going to come here.
The overlook was seven minutes away from where I was from downtown Crescent, and it was the best seven minute detour I have ever taken.
There’s parking along the pathway leading up to the hill that’s accessible, and it also leads to beach. There is no parking spots on the hill, is too narrow.
Use caution when going up the hill because there are massive blind spots. Once you’re on top of the hill, there is two different parking locations. The one by the bathroom has probably 10 to 14 spots, and the one that’s closest to the overlook has probably five spots. There is space on either side for maybe one or two cars..
I would not recommend bringing a large vehicle, such as a camper or anything towed.
Now, for how I really felt upon getting out of the car, your instantly hit with a beautiful breeze and an incredible ocean smell. Not funky like fish, but if you’ve been to the beach, you know what I’m talking about.
As I made it to the lookout itself, there’s different information boards about the science behind the sea stacks and erosion very cool.
It’s not hyperbole when I say, being there taking deep breaths, and decompressing made me into a whole new person.
I couldn’t help but express how beautiful I thought everything was to the retired people that were up there and I had such a wonderful conversation connecting with these people that it really made me grateful to come here .
I know this was a long review and not everything here even needed to be said, but I say it that you guys will go and check out the incredible beauty we have...
Read moreAs the sun sank lower, the waves crashed against the shore, sending salty sprays of water into the air, while the cool breeze carried the scent of the ocean across the land. Sharp stones glimmered in the fading light, scattered along the beach like shards of glass, their edges reflecting the last rays of sunlight. Beyond, the rugged silhouette of mountains rose majestically, their peaks now bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. As the light faded, the mountains cast no shadows, but stood tall and proud, as if watching over the tranquil scene...
Read moreThere are a few connecting trails at this entrance, but I was in a bit of a hurry so took the compact 1.3mi hike down to Endert’s beach. Great payoffs for not much effort. Worth the stop even if you don’t make it for low tide to see the tide pools.
It was foggy when i visited which obscured the ocean from some viewpoints, but it added a sort of mystique to the forest. Lots of bunnies and blackberry bushes along the trail. The switchback path leading down to the beach is quite narrow...
