1st time to Crested Butte and the surrounding area. Came during the fall at the beginning of October. I must say, I've never seen fall colors so lovely, not to mention the gorgeous mountains around here. The trail is a little over a mile one way, goes up about 450 feet or so. Then goes down to the falls. The trail is marked well, and leads to other trails that continue up. Next time for sure ;0) Nice minimal moderate tail. The falls are pretty cool, but the mountains take my eyes away. Nice view of the ski...

I really enjoyed this trail and getting to the falls at the end. Judd falls is very pretty and is a lovely site. I appreciated the view of Gothic mountain next to it and the beautiful shots I got of the mountain there. I've really come to love Gothic mountain as a very distinct and beautiful mountain that to me is second only to the Crested Butte. Anyway this is a very nice hike and it is fairly easy, probably about a mile and has a restroom that you should use at the beginning because it's an...

Pretty area, TONS of wildflowers. Trail goes up through aspen groves and some evergreens into open areas with Mount Crested Butte in view to the east. We parked at the lower parking area and walked up a trail that connected to the road -- not knowing that you can drive up the road and park at the upper trailhead. From the upper trailhead it's only 1/2 mile to the Judd Falls overlook. Steep cliffs right by overlook, so be careful by the edge. A great, short hike, especially during the summer...

This is a great short hike for all ages. You can drive the road past the main trailhead and you’ll see two other parking areas further along the trail. The last parking area leaves around a half mile hike to the falls. Once you get to the falls be careful with little ones as there are steep drops. To the right of the falls there is a little trail that heads down to the bottom of the ravine. This trail requires some mild scrambling.
