Sycamore Ranch Vineyard & Winery - Open/Tastings by Appointment — Attraction in Crestline

While Sycamore Ranch is a beautiful place in a lovely location, and the staff were friendly, it was very disappointing in every other way. First was the fact that despite having an extensive wine and cider list, they allow no choice for their wine or cider flights. They have pre-determined the 5 wines and 4 ciders that are served for flight tasting. No other options for tasting. Second, I’m sorry to say, is that none of the wines or ciders in the tasting flights were good. The cab was passable , but none of us liked any of the other wines or ciders. The wines in Temecula were much better. We live in Minnesota and the ciders in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa are superior. These ciders were very disappointing. Lastly, we’d pre-ordered charcuterie “boards”. While the tiny cheese selections were good, the quantities were minuscule, the crackers were stale, and no meats nor fruit were included. Don’t recommend Sycamore...

Wines are great in a pretty setting & Elizabeth, co-owner, is very nice! BUT in addition to the $20 wine tasting, each person MUST buy at least one $34 bottle or more & they only accept reservations for 4 or more people so it costs each couple a minimum of $108!!! It's really too bad for those of us who enjoy the wines but cannot afford the higher priced bottles. :( They obviously want to cater solely to the affluent customers. If you can afford the $108 per couple, you will thoroughly enjoy the experience here, along with their wonderful wines!

This is an enchanting and beautiful area right here in Dart Canyon on the east side of Lake Gregory. Everything about it says you are welcome here and we love wine. I love the herb and vegetable garden. The delicious cider is pressed and bottled right here on the mountain with apples grown in a lovely orchard just a 5-min walk away. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and the cider. I highly recommend an appt. for the wine and cider tasting.
