The setting of this venue was very nice. I didn’t even get to see all the nice photo shoot areas personally, but later in photos. Very nice building and grounds. However, don’t schedule an event there in August!!. It was very warm inside. It never got cool. With dancing and such during reception, it got hot and we were all getting sweaty! I know it’s hot in Texas in the summer, but take into consideration the temps and number of guests! Maybe you need new units, more efficient units or even more cooling for this size of a venue. I’ve never been this hot at any wedding reception, ever!!! So uncomfortable. But we didn’t let it ruin our joy in celebrating, we just suffered and fanned ourselves with whatever we could find!
Also, it made no difference that specific dietary requests were submitted. We had a number of diabetics in our party. They had nothing but sweet tea and lemonade to offer as a drink. When we asked for water (the cheapest thing to serve!) with dinner @ 6pm, we were told we could get water from the bar. However the bar didn’t open until 8 or after. They finally brought out some bottles of water (water poured from pitchers would have been fine) when many of our friends and family requested it. The food was so so. I was just a guest, and idk how the food selection was made, but the chicken Parmesan was dry and chewy. There was a really nice fruit table, but no plates to eat any of it! Idk what was with the slices of pizza they brought out before dinner was served?!?!? Was it supposed to be appetizer? Kids meal? Idk
The tables were cramped! With 10 chairs around a table that should probably have only accommodated 8, it was tight. We actually removed one of the chairs and table settings to give us some room for a group of 9 and that was tight, especially when it was already so warm/hot inside the building.
So if you care only about a pretty location, this is the place for you. If you are concerned about comfort (HOT) and/or dietary accommodations, and providing your guests with adequate hydration, this place is not for you.
I will say the female bartender was very nice and accommodating. She willingly made a Shirley temple type drink I suggested (just sprite w a little rose grenadine) for the non drinkers in our group, as they were very slow providing refills in the tea and lemonade for those who would or could drink that.
I would suggest in the future, this venue provide a “self-serve” drink refill location rather than expecting waiters/waitresses to make it around to all the tables to refill drinks.
Also, sort of odd table arrangements with separated areas. I could total redesign a better table arrangement in a matter of minutes. Was not conducive to visiting...
Read moreWe had my daughter’s quinceañera here and it was a nightmare from start to finish. Despite a signed contract, they charged us for everything — even for basic things like plates for the cake and fruit table. Want big bows? Extra. Throne chair? Extra. Unlimited ice? $300. They nickel-and-dime you for everything.
Their staff was unprofessional — the man in charge of opening the venue was drunk and left shortly after arriving. When I messaged their group chat to request help with moving tables, I was ignored.
The robot I paid for never showed up, and they took no accountability even though it was part of their contract. To top it off, the man managing the event tried to speak to my mother behind my back about it, saying not to tell me because I “looked stressed.” Then he had the nerve to speak down to me directly. As a U.S. Marine with 20 years of service, I don’t let anyone speak to me that way — especially not someone I’m paying thousands of dollars to.
Completely unprofessional. I will never do business with Bonanza Ranch again and do not recommend...
Read moreIt’s a beautiful place but horrible attitudes from the workers, terrible management from staff, and extremely unpunctual. To start off the dj was about 45 minutes late when he was needed for 2 hours. Waiters were extremely rude and very unorganized and servers tried to be slick and take food from the event WITHOUT asking after even getting into a argument with a family member about agreements that we had made with the staff prior to the party and it’s not about the food but the staff didn’t even ask after all the problems they caused and family members told us that the staff was calling the father of the quinceañera “mamon” which was the one who paid them till the last penny they charged for this venue. This is absolutely disgusting and ridiculous. And without saying small details we had before the event. In my opinion it was disappointing because it is a beautiful place and expensive for this stupidity of what they have called...
