My friends and I went here for spring break, and one of us left with a broken arm and nerve damage. Initially, when we got there, the vibes were really great because the wife and husband let the three of us into the park, despite one of us (me) not having brought enough money for a deposit on my ATV ( the ATM was down and they only took cash and we brought exactly $100 each). We weren’t aware that it was $30 per person for park entry + refundable $100 per person for deposits on the ATV (as long as you didn’t break them). So, my two friends paid their deposit and I paid for all 3 of our park entry and they told me I could still ride despite me not having paid a deposit as long as I promised not to break their ATVs. I didn’t, but one of my friends did have a freak accident. The first red flag was that there wasn’t a whole lot of safety instructions prior to us starting the trail. They took some pictures for us and pretty much just told us where the gas and the break were and what not to touch and that was it. The terrain in my opinion was pretty rough. It was my first time, so I didn’t know what to expect but it was that kind of a mix of dusty dirt + rocks at one point, hard clay with bumps and curves, a woodsy area with logs and rocks in the middle of the trail. There was water/ mud we drove through at one point. And then halfway through, it was the open sand area we got to have some free time on. There was only one tour guide and he was in front of us and nobody was behind us. Because it was my first time I was being extra careful especially being that I didn’t pay the deposit on my ATV, but also because I didn’t want to hurt myself and I easily could’ve because of the terrain’s roughness. I was going so slow to the point that the tour guide, and my friends would have to stop a lot just for me to catch up. There where times when I couldn’t even see them anymore. It was fun and all but I definitely feel like some more safety precautions would make this place better. I feel like there should always be a tour guide in the back of the party, no matter how small it is. Also, our tour guide did not speak any English, so we were not able to communicate with him all that well. But he would glance back ever so often to see if everyone was there before he continued. Thank God my friend didn’t get hurt during the middle of the excursion when we were in the middle of the park because I don’t know how we would have communicated with him. When she got hurt it was when we were pulling back into the main entrance, and we were all going at a pretty slow pace because it was the end of the trail. My friend ran over a curve somehow and her atv threw her off and she broke her arm because her arm caught her fall. We quickly called the police and the paramedics came soon after and while they were there the wife and husband were saying that she would be fine and that it was no biggie, but it turned out that she wasn’t fine. Her arm was in fact broken like she had constantly been saying while she was laying on the ground. She had to get surgery to have a metal rod put into her arm in order to speed up her healing process. And she has a big scar on her arm right there. She also has to get shock therapy every week now to try to wake up the nerves that are in her wrist and fingers because she has very poor mobility in them as of right now. Because there was major damages to the ATV, both my friends deposits were withheld, even the one who had no damages on her ATV. And had they not let me off the hook with my deposit I’m sure they would’ve kept my $100 as well. I’d definitely say read everything and ask questions before signing those papers because had we known that all of our deposits could’ve been jeopardized for just one person’s ATV we may have reconsidered. The employees were nice enough to give us a ride to the hospital. The nurses there said that they received several patients from this location in a short...
Read moreFor some background I ATV wherever I travel and this is my first not 5 star for ATV. This place has potential of 5 star but I took off 2 stars due to the tour guide going extremely slow. My group was a group of 3 but we get paired with more people so the tour was 10 riders. In most ATV riding tours there are 2 guides if it’s such a big group. In normal case scenarios one tour guide stays with the slow people while one with people who can go fast. Since we were stuck with one tour guide he went extremely slow and he also had a “I’m bored and I hate this job” attitude. In one spot he said we are free to ride around in the open but then proceeds to point and say don’t go there, there, there, there, and there. Everyone joked in the group and said “then where are we allowed to go?” It was extremely frustrating going this slow. A person could be going for a run and keep up with us. The reason I’m giving the rest of the 3 stars is the course was amazing! It has potential to be the best tour with all the bumps, water, and jumps but the tour guide avoided everything or went so slow that it was all wasted potential. You go under a really cool water sprinkler so prepared to be fully wet! I feel like if the tour is going to be that slow they should slash their price by half because we are barely driving. Check in was easy, there wasn’t a long wait time to start the tour. Make sure you only pay $30 for entry if you are doing a tour, they charge $40 for if you have your own ATV (general admission). They try not to tell you this at the entry gate but the lady taking our money for the tour told us and we had to walk back to the entry gate to get back our $10 each. Wear crocs because you...
Read moreThis was the WORST experience ever . I’ve been ATV riding once before, but this time our tour guide was very rude . I ended up making a sharp turn and FLIPPED off of my ATV and the ATV landed on my stomach . I was unconscious and the only people that helped me were my 2 friends that were girls . It was 90 degrees and I blacked out . The tour guide didn’t even try to help pick me up or wake me . His first words were “that’ll be $200 in damages “ ! The tour guide definitely cared more about the ATV than the person that was unconscious . Then he said “ well she needs to bring the bike back “ . My friends told him that I wasn’t getting back on . He called the 4 wheeler over and they brung me back to the building . There were NO paramedics, no first aid kit , and no assistance whatsoever, no one even brung me water . I felt very nauseous and dizzy . My pregnant mother had to come and pick me up . Before she got there they bullied us into paying $200 in damages . They gave my friends back $80 refunds but didn’t give me anything back . Those people made over $500 off of all of us together and not one person helped me . The workers were yelling at my friends about the ATV and how “this is why they don’t let underage people drive “ . We were all 17 . That place is very unethical . We were all under 1 id and they made us sign the last name of our friend so it wouldn’t look bad on them . They made it look as if we all had ONE parent with the same last name as us that consisted to us driving the ATV. That is why we all had to use my friends last name when we signed . I wish I would’ve never came here . I ended up in the hospital and this was by far the WORST experience...
