American Battlefield Trust just gave them their grant which will preserve tins of land surrounding the mountain. Their 157 anniversary and event weekend is August 10-11. Itβs a great weekend of authentic campaigns and with correct historical content. The signs don't really lead you in a recognizable pattern (where there are signs) and you will probably read the signs out of order, if you don't straight up get lost. The trails haven't been maintained, and the long grass encouraged woodticks to crawl up my clothes. I am very happen that the land was acquired through the Civil War Trust, but I wish that is would be better maintained and interpreted and perhaps more people...
