One of the trailheads to access Fremont Older! The initial hike is a steep one, but once you make the ascent you're rewarded with a beautiful view of East Bay and the Stevens Creek Reservoir on the other side. Easy access to Hunters Point view and Coyote Ridge Trail from here. Dog, bike and kid-friendly. Parking here is free and street. Kind of tough if you come during popular times due to lack of space. We got lucky. No trash cans at this entrance. Slightly muddy after rain too. There were ticks in the grassy areas at Fremont Older during this time, so beware for the dogs that are let off leash!

This spot gives you access to Freemont Open Space trails. The parking space is very limited for about 6 cars on the roadside. It seems like people come and go and I got the parking without waiting. The first part is a steep hike up about 0.2 miles. Then continuing to the left you get to the Hunters point. There are several trails to many directions so that I would recommend printing the trail map prior getting there to have a better understanding about the length of the trails, not sure if there are any loops. Nice hike!

Beautiful trail. Steep for most sections to Hunter’s peak or massie’s peak but the views make up for it. Street side parking for about 6-8 cars.

The Fremont Older Trailhead in California is a haven for casual hikers, offering a variety of trails that cater to different skill levels. Located in the Fremont Older Open Space Preserve, this area provides stunning views of the Santa Clara Valley and is easily accessible from nearby cities like Saratoga and Cupertino. The preserve's proximity to urban areas makes it an ideal spot for those seeking a quick escape into nature.
