Separate facility than the Custer State Park Visitor Center. On a side road off of the Wildlife Loop in Custer State Park, but there is a sign and plenty of parking. Separate entrances for gift shop, Bison Education Center, and restrooms, but all located within one building. Bison Education Center has interactive, child friendly displays kids can touch. Good family activity to get the kids and adults thinking. Correls on premises for when they do their bison roundup once a year. Great outdoor covered seating where you can relax awhile and enjoy the Sourh Dakota scenery. We visited during Sturgis Bike Week, but not...

In the middle of Wildlife Loop in Custer State Park. Very cool place to learn about the bison in the park. Modern bathrooms. And a gift shop with snacks and drinks. Plenty of places to sit outside in covered areas. The views are incredible with rolling hills where the wildlife roam. We had wild donkeys come up to the truck. There was prairie dogs everywhere. Lots of deer and antelope. Very interesting place to visit. Prepare for alot of driving...

Stopped by and checked out the museum area. Super cute! Lots to learn about the animals in the area, especially Bison. The bathrooms were clean and nice. Gift shop was great and had a good variety of merch. We got a baby bison plush (they had the cutest cinnamon color too!), Prarie dog plush, some treats, magnets and Christmas ornaments. The two gals working there had the biggest smiles on their faces and it was so fun to chat with them. Great...

I was very excited to see the animals so close to the road. Other tourists had close encounters and the bison decided to lick their car. We stayed back. We brought our Dane with and she never barked at any animals. She would shiver from excitement though lol. The center was so informative and the staff was wonderful. We really enjoyed talking to him. Morning Star Lodge was a great place to stay while we toured Deadwood and Custer State Park.

I literally never even went inside, I just saw these bison just sitting and looking over at us and I was captivated. I just wanted to sit there and watch them and take photos of them. With that said, I love this stuff and as we were leaving we saw two herds directly in front of us crossing the road. Even saw a baby bison also known as red dog go over to a small car and rub himself up against it.
