Colorado National Speedway — Attraction in Dacono

So I must say first off I love Colorado National Speed Way... However last night was very very disappointing. I understand that the plumbing issues were not something you could control. However there were other things ai feel you could have controlled better and differently. Say for instance the family section that says no Alcohol making sure that there was none. There was kids everywhere and adults drinking and stumbling around everywhere. Then the parking lot. We sat in traffic for an hour we watched cars and people act crazy and not one bit if security out there. Then my husband got out and was directing and helping did for almost 30 minutes after other customers cheered him on, gave him cold drinks and said thank you. Your staff came up very rudely and inappreciative yelling at him to get in his vehicle. Then proceeded to stand by and watch without doing anything talking about this isn't his first job he's a Colorado State Patrol. Well we really didn't care but he could have helped in stead of being a complete jerk. It was disheartening to me because usually everyone is so great out there and last night showed a completely different place and people. Which I don't know if we can or will give another...

Overall we had a great time. There were different kind of races. However, when you have a rain check it is very confusing on what you need to do. You have to print out the tickets. We went to window 6 with our printed tickets and were told only window 1 can handle rain checks. There was no signs saying rain checks had to be in a certain line!! So we missed the first part of the race due to poor communication on the racetrack. It upset a lot of the people who waited in the wrong lines...

Concessions had long lines but fairly priced. I believe it was $6.75 for a mixed drink.

The stands are old and a little sketchy to sit on, but they held the huge audience. I'm thinking it normally isn't that busy, it just so happened our June firework show got cancelled due to weather so we had to go the next weekend.

Well worth it to take the time attend. It's a lot of great fun for the whole family--the races are short enough that kids might not get bored as soon, compared to actual NASCAR races. There's always some excitement on every race night, and the short track adds a lot of action to the racing when they put a larger line-up of cars on there. They do a lot of figure 8 races compared to other tracks, which always keep you on the edge of your seat. The food is good for the prices and not too expensive. The only downsides are that I wish they would upgrade the infrastructure (or at least the restrooms) with the amount of ticket money they get. And every time I go here, the parking attendants are always rude/aggressive/visibly irritated either with me or someone else. The first time I went, they got mad at me because I couldn't understand their confusing hand signals and parked in the...
