Lindsey, Steven and Leslie -
I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you for the incredible time Jack’s Mom had with us up there last week!! We have been telling her about our love affair with Wolf Mountain Vineyards ever since we started coming up there almost 7 years ago and when we told her that we bought property right around the corner from the winery and were going to retire up there, her biggest wish was to see Dahlonega and your amazing winery!! We made her wish come true by giving this trip to her as her Christmas Gift.
The minute she stepped out onto your balcony and saw the breathtaking view, she began to cry. And this is from a lady who has traveled the world and experienced mountains before. She said the view absolutely took her breath away. And I don’t even know where to begin with the way you all made her feel like family!! She said she has never met a group of people that she felt so close too so fast, she couldn’t get over your hospitality and warmth! And this is coming from someone who is almost 89 years old!! You all went out of your way to make her feel at home and like she belonged and was family. I don’t even know where to begin about your spectacular Sunday Brunch!! Mom has always been a very picky eater and eats like a bird. She went back for second helpings of almost everything, including dessert which she never eats!
As I sit here and write this, I find myself tearing up remembering the truly amazing time she had with us up there for the 4 days we were there. She laughed, smiled, told jokes, talked to complete strangers and loved drinking her wine! I can’t begin to thank you all enough for helping make this trip a truly beautiful and memorable experience for her.
I am counting down the days until we can retire, build up there and be your neighbors and really counting the days until we see you again on June 30!!
Take care...

Beautiful place and views. Better options locally for wine and food. I am more of a red fan, but found all the wines here lacking after having tried a glass and then a flight after a late lunch.
Let us begin with the wine, since this was the reason for our visit. I had a glass of the howling wolf red with lunch, and then a (very expensive) flight of five wines after. The flight consisted of two sparkling wines, one white, and two reds. In short, all of the wines and especially the reds seemed too young to have been opened.
This is my first Georgia winery, so I’m tempted to write this off as typical for the region (I realize I’m not in Napa Valley or France). However, I did visit another winery on this day and found the wines their substantially better.
The late lunch consisted of a chicken strawberry goat cheese salad that my wife loved. I had the duck burger, which tasted very similar to a sausage patty (I think too much fennel possibly?) and the tomato jam that they added was way too sweet and overpowering. it was a bit like eating a sausage breakfast sandwich with a glass of wine LOL. However, the french fries that they served with my duck burger were some of the best fries I’ve ever had.
I will also add that the wine tasting at the bar in the tasting room was a little too close for comfort in terms of coronavirus - and I’m not too uptight about these things as compared to most others. It was a Friday afternoon and was getting quite crowded in there. We considered taking our glasses outside to drink, but it was getting to the extent that we would’ve had to wait in line behind others at the bar each time we came back in for some more of the flight.
Overall, I would say there are better wines and ambiance for less money at other...
Read moreWolf Mountain Vineyard offers a charming and tastefully curated brunch experience well worth the advanced reservation. Nestled within breathtaking scenery, the vineyard provides a tranquil escape with picturesque views that are as palatable as the fine cuisine on offer. Despite its limited parking, which may require a short walk, the restaurant setting more than compensates, welcoming guests to a serene backdrop of vineyard rows and gentle mountainsides.
On a recent visit for the 2:30 seating, my anticipation was met with a minor wait before being seated at a prime table flaunting the best of the vineyard's natural beauty. The buffet menu didn't disappoint either, presenting an array of savory and sweet choices. From the rich, flavorful mushroom soup to the succulent roasted chicken legs and perfectly seasoned root vegetables, each dish was carefully prepared. The inventive salmon croquette Benedict and the indulgent French toast with mascarpone and poached pears were particularly noteworthy.
Adding to the culinary journey, a seafood pasta offered a taste of the ocean, while the carving turkey station satisfied traditional cravings. The salad with quinoa and beets provided a refreshing and nutritious interlude, balancing the hearty offerings. The dessert station was a study in temptation, featuring bite-sized delights such as key lime pie and chocolate-covered strawberries that concluded the meal on a high note.
While overall the experience is delightful, a shuttle service for easier access to the restaurant would be an excellent addition, catering to those who might find the walk challenging. This thoughtful touch would ensure that all guests have an opportunity to enjoy what is undeniably a stellar dining experience amidst the splendor of Wolf...
