Buell County Park — Attraction in Dallas

A quiet little park next to a small River. Some playground equipment and 2 horseshoe pits. There is a restroom and on our mid May visit it was stocked with toilet paper and paper towels but needed a cleaning badly. There are 5-6 picnic tables, a (probably unauthorized) fire pit and several garbage cans. There are two or more BBQ stands. No covered areas. Gravel paths lead to the river. ...

Great place to cool off , especially with kiddos . The water is a shallow enough that they could play freely. Water shoes are definitely recommended! Get there early as parking is limited. Not a whole lot of shady spots by water . Picnic tables are near an old playground but you could get lucky and find a table or two around the creek . Bathrooms could use some TLC. Overall a nice low key...
