This place is awesome, yeah it's not a the biggest but it's beautiful, and for those who say there's no where to hike, it's just a little area with a few picnic tables where you can enjoy the falls and get in the water, than I have to say those people obviously weren't trying to hike, cause there's plenty of places to hike and explore on the top side of the falls on either side of the creek, not to mention some incredible views looking down from the water fall, they may say the top is prohibited, but I can assure you I've been going up there for years and still do so to this day, and not one time has anyone said I can't be up there, there's many people that go up there sometimes more people on the top side than on the bottom side, they just don't want to get sued so they say that, but I'll go by myself and be the only there, it's not dangerous it could be for toddlers to walk up the hill, but as long as you're not trying to swan dive off the cliff face into the water than, you'll be ok just fine, if you do want to jump off into a maybe 3-4 for pool of water that's got many rocks on it, than obviously the world would be better with out that person, cause that person used no logic or comment sense, may seem harsh, but it's the truth, but there's nothing dangerous up there just be careful, keep true to your surroundings and don't walk to the edge holding a selfistick, I promise this place is a true definition of big things come in...

We arrived during morning hours to an empty parking lot. There is no entry fee. We had the shoals all by ourselves for a while. It's so beautiful. It was relaxing and peaceful with only the sounds of the birds and the waterfall.

If you visit and need to sit, you'll need to bring your own chair. There is no seating besides the forest floor. I didn't notice any grills and I'm not sure it's allowed.

There is red mud I noticed so I wouldn't wear anything so special it can't be replaced. The rocks and some ground areas are a bit slippery; make sure you wear hiking boots or shoes with a good tread, OR go barefoot! 😊👣👟

The kids took a trail to the top of the waterfall to see over the side (*there should be a cautionary fence on the top so no one falls off (I'm speaking primarily about kids - but if you're a helicopter parent like me it's not as big a deal, but if you don't watch your young children it could be deadly if they fall) just use use common sense and caution.

DO NOT TRY TO JUMP IN THE WATER BELOW FROM THE TOP OF THE FALLS! The water that pools at the bottom of the waterfall is not very deep maybe 3 feet and full of old rocks but it was nice and cool and crystal clear. Before we left a young couple satin lawn chairs while their 2 children played and splashed in the pool - I would...

Update: June 7, 2025 Me and the hubby went here today. I can Truley say it is much better now. I would go in the day time. Getting to the Waterfalls can be a bit dangerous walking on the Tree roots and rocks. But once you get there The Water fall looks amazing. We really enjoyed it.

May 2024 Me and my pup went here today. I thought we could get a dog walk in. I felt very unsafe. The pics online look so nice but getting to the water fall was dark and rocky. I didn't even get to see it. There is a Cemetery before you get to the water falls. I have a small pup and I didn't feel comfortable letting her down to walk. This isn't a good place to take your smaller dog. The walking trail there is so rocky and just dirt.. I seen a bigger dog go down the steep dark walking trail. If there is a NEXT time I will leave my dog. And go with the Hubby. I really wanted to see the Water fall. Unfortunately I...

Replying to @sugadaddyslim Y’all are really making me work to get to all these recommended gems 💎 High Shoals Waterfall in Paulding County feels like a secret straight out of a storybook. Hidden deep in the woods, this cascade tumbles over smooth rock, creating the perfect soundtrack to an afternoon spent off the grid. The hike? Short, but just rugged enough to make you feel like you earned the view. Now, I promise—it’s not as easy to find as you’d think. The entrance isn’t well-marked, and you might second-guess if you’re in the right spot. But don’t turn around too soon. 📍 High Shoals Waterfall – 2184 High Shoals Rd, Dallas, GA 30132 🔹 Quick, scenic hike through the forest 🔹 Gorgeous waterfall with natural rock pools 🔹 Quiet, peaceful, and rarely crowded 🔹 Perfect spot to cool off in warmer months Nature stays showing off in Georgia. You just have to go find it. We Out 🌱 #atlanta #waterfall #nature #outdoors #travel
