We booked our wedding here for July 2020. We were so thrilled and excited to get married at this venue, when we booked we were working with Josh’s dad who was a very fair and reasonable man, who listened to us and made sure things were fair between the venue and us. We were a bit put off by the cut off time of the venue and the strict guest count but decided it worked for us. When covid hit we decided almost immediately that we needed to reschedule our wedding due to ALL of our guests being out of state. All of our venders were so amazing moving our dates with out charging us BESIDES PERRY HILL FARMS. They CHARGED us $1000 to MOVE our date (to the next year, and then FURTHER wanted to charge us the WHOLE PRICE of the venue ~$3000). They (JOSH) told us that it was not their problem our guests were from out of town and that we can have a wedding inside of their barn in July and that it didn’t matter what the governor said about no more than groups of 50 people when we went with this venue because of their 120 people max which was no longer even applicable. We moved our wedding to the next year after months of trying because they wouldn’t even talk to us about moving for “just a bit longer” until it was conveniently past the time of getting a refund. They told us not to cancel because they made us wait (by go ghosting us) until we could no longer cancel!!! We moved the date and they didn’t even have the same date reserved after they said they are giving priority to 2020 brides that needed to reschedule. Also during this time when we were hoping to change, cancel or anything Josh was conveniently not taking phone calls so we couldn’t talk to anyone or get answers while they were demanding another $1500 months and months in advanced of the date of the wedding. They would not talk to my parents who were paying for the wedding and would only talk to me who would have to relay it. When we decided to fully cancel because covid will still be happening at the time of our rescheduled wedding we were not able to get any money back at all besides the $500 deposit. It was more than 6 months in advance of the scheduled date (it’s not like they had to TURN brides down for that day and wouldn’t be able to reschedule) we weren’t asking for a full refund at all, just a fair exchange since we didn’t start covid and as business owners we also understand the struggles from the pandemic. They completely ghosted us and sent us a check for $500 and never got back to us at all. This company is completely unfair and we felt that we were not treated fairly from them at all. Every other vendor we worked with was able to work fairly with us in a KIND and timely manner, except for them. I will tell every single bride I know that there are plenty of businesses that have beautiful venues and people WORTH giving your money too. Not these people. We overall spent $3000 and only got refunded $500 here and we got absolutely nothing but grief and rudeness from this business. Overall, we feel that they took extreme advantage of us...
Read moreWhen looking for a wedding venue this place checks off many boxes. Very friendly and accommodating management. Previous to the wedding, communication was very clear and expectations were talked about early on. This venue allowed the entire weekend to utilize. We were able to go early Friday morning (9 am) to set up the venue/reception space, and then have our rehearsal dinner that evening. Wedding day on Saturday, and then clean up by noon on Sunday. Management met with us Friday morning to go over expectations for the day of the wedding and to make sure all questions were answered. Perryhill allowed us to have a food truck serve our rehearsal dinner. After the initial conversation, management was in the background if anything came up but did not stand around watching which was nice. One thing to note is that Perryhill only allows you to work with one DJ: Only The Best Sound. So if you are planning on having someone DJ, make sure to reserve the day in advance. When setting up inside the barn, keep in mind the DJ needs a 5x5 ft. space in the back left corner, and if you opt for the photobooth (very popular) he sets it up in the small room directly next to where he sets up the table. There is a bridal getting ready area, but it is small (room for maybe bride and 2 others with a hair and makeup artist would be very tight.) and does not have AC. We opted to rent and Airbnb. Speaking of AC, there is none, so keep that in mind. We had our wedding the first week of September and there was a very nice breeze, and it cooled off nicely in the evening. Another thing to note is the wind, we were warned about how strong the wind is during that time of year but we underestimated it. If you are going to get married here around September keep this in mind. Somehow we got extremely lucky that we had our wedding on Saturday, during the rehearsal dinner on Friday evening we had to move the location onto the deck due to the 30 MPH WINDS, the day of our wedding was perfect. Look into veil weights just in case and make sure you can weigh things down that you might be worried could blow away. Not that this was an issue for us, but FYI this venue does not have flushing toilets, they rent port-a-pottys for your use. They do allow 120 guests, we had approximately 105 and it was comfortable, 120 would be very cramped IMO. Overall, Perryhill management was very kind, accommodating and clear throughout the entire process. We had our breath taken away by the gorgeous views of the valley, the golden rolling hills where we did our Sunset photos (I will try to add a photo later). We were very happy to have our wedding here and would highly...
Read moreI don't know who "J" talked to but our experience with Perryhill Farms wedding venue (and Ken in particular) was fantastic! First and foremost, there is simply not a prettier, more picturesque place for a wedding anywhere! The site for the ceremony is up above the rest of the property on a glen in the shadow of a fir-tree forest overlooking the farmland below. The path to this site goes through the trees and emerges at the wedding ceremony location. It is simply stunning -- quiet and beautiful. After the ceremony you head down to the historic barn which is also really nice. Rustic but solid. So many photo ops! The best part for us was that we got the venue for the weekend. We set up on Friday, partied Saturday, and cleaned up Sunday. Ken was SO accommodating. The one and only warning -- do not book for more than 120 people (including wedding party). We were told this when we booked and were really careful not to exceed this number. We ended up with 115 in attendance and it was plenty cozy! Seriously, if your wedding is larger than this, go elsewhere. All in all, this was the perfect venue to give our daughter and our new son in-law a day they will remember always. PS. No, I don't have any affiliation with Perryhill Farms, just wanted to let them know how much we enjoyed their...
